Who is that girl?

It was a beautiful day, and the sun had just started to rise. Inside a white house lived a girl, named Finland. She didn't do much, she read books most of the time, and when she wasn't she was either going out for a walk or doing something with her family. But right now she was sleeping. Well, until she was woken up by a loud noise downstairs.
«Ugh, are they arguing again?» She tought.
She checked her phone, «09:21» it said. Even though she'd rather stay in bed and sleep, she got up. She grabbed a hoodie which was hanging on her chair, and put it on. It wasn't anything special, just a plain black hoodie, but it was comfortable, it reminded her of her mother, and the nice warm hugs she would give her.

While walking downstairs she started thinking about her mother. She was a brave, strong woman, but at the same time she was kind and always put her children above anything else. Nobody knows what happened to her, she just dissapeared one day. But that wasn't important. Why get caught up in the past when you can live in the present?

But her chain of thought was broken, by a familiar voice.
«God morgen (good morning)».
It was her brother Norway, he was a quiet guy, who spent most of his time on his phone. He didn't really care for his older siblings, Denmark and Sweden, but always took care of his younger siblings. He was like their mother in many ways.

«Hyvää huomenta (good morning). What are they arguing about now?» While saying the last part Finland looked up at Denmark and Sweden who were standing in the kitchen shouting at eachother.

«What we're having for breakfast. Denmark would like bread and Sweden wants porridge» He answered, annoyed at the two.

Iceland was in the middle of the two, trying to calm them down. But it didn't do much, they didn't stop until Norway shouted at them.
«CAN YOU TWO SHUT UP!? IT'S DANMARKS TURN TO MAKE BREAKFAST, SO SHE CHOOSES. OKAY!?»

The room went quiet, Denmark looked proud, while Sweden just looked at the ground, annoyed.

«Okej, but tommorow we're having porridge, deal?» Sweden said looking towards Denmark.
«Auðvitað! (Of course!» Iceland said with a big smile across her face.

After eating breakfast they started talking about what to do for the day.
«Well, I have a dress I have to finish before Monday» Denmark said.
«It's the weekend, give yourself a break» Sweden answered.
«But- It's an important project, if I don't finish it before»
«No buts. You enjoy the weekend along with us, I can take Monday off to help you» Sweden said sternly.
«You don't know shit about sewing, so how do you think you'd help?» She replied.
«I don't know but I'll find a way.»

This is what Finland loved about her family, they make sure that everybody has it well, and if they don't they'll do about anything to make sure that they do. It's not always that great though, Sweden is so busy making sure that everybody is doing well that he forgets about himself. And Finland, her mental health isn't doing that well either. So she makes sure to hide it as best as she can, so that Sweden dosen't have more to worry about. Altough there are some things that are harder to hide, such as her tiredness. She hasen't got a proper night of sleep for what? 3 weeks now?  Everybody knows this, so when she is sleeping they're as quiet as possible, so that they don't wake her up.
Finland also feels like Iceland thinks that it's her responsibility that the family dosen't fall apart. Which is not true at all, since they all love and care about eachother, and even if it was falling apart, it's not her responsibility, since that's just extremely unfair. She dosen't know what to do since she's not so close to Iceland, but she's still her sister. So she should be able to confront her about this, just dosen't know how.

«I have a few library books I have to return» She said while looking at the table.
«I'll come with you, it's my turn to get groceries, and we can get them on the way» Norway said, after he said that he looked to Finland and smiled.
She looked up and just nodded.
«I'll go up and put on proper clothes» She said afterwards.
She stood up and started walking to to her room.

Every bedroom had a sticker with the flag of who it belonged to. When you open her door the first thing you see it her bed with a nighttable next to it. On the table there's a small lamp, along with a water bottle and a book. On the wall there's a few heavy metal band posters along with some pictures with her family. On the opposite side of the room are two drawers, where she keeps her clothes. And next to that is a desk, with a bookshelf beside it. And infront of the desk is a chair.

She put on a black, long sleeved shirt, which is a bit too big for her, and some navy blue jeans. The jeans had a few rips in them, from times she had fell on to the pavement and scratched her knees. She put a few clips on to her hair, and then put on socks. She took a Marimekko tote bag and put the library books in there, and put her phone into her pocket.

When she opened the door, she saw Norway waiting for her. He was just wearing a red hoodie with some jeans. They walked downstairs and just when she was putting on her shoes she heard the question.
«How long did you sleep tonight?» It was Sweden, like always.
«Paska» She thought to herself.
«Don't lie» He said.
«Uhmm, 6 1/2 hours?»
He didn't say anything, just looked at Finland. And then walked away.

Outside the sun had risen, and birds were chirping up in the trees. The two didn't say much while walking to the library. Every once in a while Norway would start talking about fish and other sea creatures. When they finally came to the library, it was very empty, the were only two other people. She went to the return section and left her books there. While walking to the grocery store Norway suggested something.
«We should go to the cafe/bakery that Frankriket og Tyskland (France and Germany) own. It's on the way there.»
Finland just nodded and contiued walking.

The bakery/cafe is a nice place. It's quite small, yes, but it has lots of good bread, pastrys and drinks. It also has an outdoor area where you can sit and enjoy the weather, but it's only open during spring and summer. Norway went there quite often, so they already knew what he wanted, and Finland, she just wanted a coffee with a korvapuusti (cinnamon roll).

While standing in line she noticed something, there was a new girl working at the coffee machines. Her flag had three horizontal stripes, with blue, black and white. Her eyes were emerald green, they were the prettiest eyes she had ever seen. She wore round glasses, with silver frames. And her hair was medium length, with dark blue hair in the back, and white and light blue in the front. Her heart started beating faster, and she just stood there in awe of the beauty she was seeing. She hadn't noticed that she zoned out before it was already their turn.
«Two cups of kaffe with oat milk, a kanelsnurr, a vaffel and a loaf of bread» He said to Germany who was standing at the cash register.
«Ja! That will be 24.79 cents» He said.
Norway payed for the food and they sat down by the window.
«A whole loaf of bread?» Finland asked jokingly.
«Det smaker bedre fra her(it tastes better from here)» He said in norwegian.
Finland didn't know norwegian, but she was fluent in Swedish so she could make out what he was saying.
«How much exactly is 24.79 euros?» He said this while opening up a money exchanger.
«283.95 NOK!? JEG KUNNE HA KJØPT FAEN MED SVERIGE MED SÅ MYE PENGER! (I COULD HAVE BOUGHT FUCKING SWEDEN WITH SO MUCH MONEY!» He shouted suprised at how much it cost.
«Keep your voice down, Norja» She said while quietly drinking her coffee.

After they had gone to the grocery store they went home. Finland went up to her room and immideatly collapsed on her bed, just who exactly was this girl? And why did she want be her friend so badly? Her heart rate started picking up just by thinking about her, she couldn't exactly recognize the feeling, but it felt nice.
