"QUIT IT!"

"ah, saicchan. you're awake."

the man shot up from his futon, a vein popping comically from his bald head as he whipped around to his annoying roommate, "of course i am, how could i sleep through your pestering!?"

you smiled sweetly at him, but the mischievous gleam in your eyes betrayed your feigned innocence. you ignored saitama's intense glower as you leaned back on her palms, "c'mon saicchan," you clicked your tongue, "you promised me you would come on my run with me before school, i had to get you up somehow."

saitama groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration, "what time is it? my alarm hasn't even gone off yet."

"4 am."

a pillow slammed harshly into your face and you were flung onto your back, your own futon cushioning your fall.

"GO BACK TO SLEEP!"

---

sat criss-cross in front of the television, you huffed as you flicked from channel to channel, elbow leaned on your knee and hand resting under your jaw. you had missed your morning run, both you and saitama having slept through several alarms until there wasn't enough time left before you had to get ready for the day. you had rewarded saitama with his own pillow to the face for that.

said man stood silently in the kitchenette, filling up his elephant watering can in the small sink. after waking up again, he had found himself in a particular mood. the evil running rampant around the world had shown no signs of disappearing. in other words - you and him had been having no effect on society. it wasn't that he was particularly sad about it, he was a hero for fun after all, but his excitement for fighting evil had dulled over the years.

he made his way past his self-proclaimed disciple, stepping out onto the balcony with an apathetic expression. in exchange for his strength, had he lost something important as a human being? the loss of his emotions (and his hair, though he would never admit that to you) was truly bothering him. this was all so easy for him now, when he fought monsters and super-humans, it was as easy as squashing a mosquito...

the sound of a slap resonated through the apartment.

you craned her head to look at saitama through the sliding doors, stifling a snicker as a mosquito buzzed around his bald head. you couldn't help but cackle as you watched the man futilely smack at the tiny bug that continued to evade his attacks.

eventually he came back inside, huffing with rage as he slammed the door behind him, muttering a spiteful, "damn mosquitoes," under his breath.

"we interrupt this programme with breaking news!"

that caught your attention.

"a massive swarm of mosquitoes is approaching city z! residents are advised to stay indoors! disaster level: demon!attacks have turned livestock into mummies, contact with the swarm means certain death!"
