𝕗𝕣𝕖𝕪𝕒

Still half-asleep, Freya moves away the covers so that there's a place for Cole to slip underneath. She hasn't slept in the same bed as a man since Dalton, but she doesn't feel any of the fear she thought she would.

As the bed sinks beside her, Freya can just hear the soft exhale of Cole's breath. Absently, she reaches for him in the darkness, finding the hem of his shirt at his waist and using it to guide him down beside her.

"This is okay?" he murmurs, still not laying all the way down.

"Yes," Freya sighs, "more than okay."

He slips beside her, pulling the sheets up on his chest before asking quietly, "Can I hold you?"

Without offering a verbal response, Freya lifts her head so that he can weave his arm beneath her neck. She sighs as she sinks into his chest, squeezing as close to the warmth of his body as she can.

"Good night, Cole," she mumbles, voice muffled in his shirt.

He pulls her in a little closer and whispers, "Night, Frey."

As she slips closer to slumber, Frey has to remind herself over and over: I don't date athletes.
