AN: Tw: Mike.

I am Proud of you :)

It's the second day, the day before the wedding which means there are only three more days of this fake shit not including today.

It also means today is the most stressful day for everyone, all of the preparations and all of the nerves are definitely showing and Sapnap has no idea how to help.

"Mom," Cara says, "Are the people there setting up?"

Susan sighs, deciding not to answer her worried daughter.

"Babe, I'm sure they are there," Sam says.

"How can you be so sure, Sam ?" Mike spits.

Sam just looks at him, squinting their eyes, Karl decides it's the best moment to pipe up and of course Sapnap being the supportive fake boyfriend he is, he supports him. "Mike, you are not helping." Karl grits out.

"No, Karl, what would she know?" Mike says standing up to somehow seem bigger than he is.

"They," Sapnap corrects, standing up to meet Mike in the middle.

"What?" Mike asks.

"They," Sapnap says with more passion than before, "It should be what would they know? Not the other way."

"Oh whatever, it's all stupid anyway," Mike blurts out.

"No, what's stupid is you not respecting someone, let alone someone your daughter is marrying."

Mike huffs walking away and Sapnap can't help but feel angry. It's not hard for people to be respectful. He never understood why people like Mike think they are so entitled.

When Karl tries to bring him back to reality instead of his head Sapnap doesn't care, he walks away. Today is stressful for the two partners, they don't need a bigot to ruin the day even more than the stress is. Sapnap walks outside, closing the door quietly so he doesn't disturb anyone else.

Kally is outside and she decides it's the perfect moment to take perches next to Sapnap's sitting form. "Hey, girl," He says, petting her head and watching her eyes widen and her tail wag. She looks so happy, so delicate, so much like Karl, with her gray fur and her blue eyes. She seems so perfectly content with getting scratches from some random man.

"You are very pretty," He says to her and her face doesn't change much, she's a dog, she doesn't understand. Sometimes he wishes he were a dog, a dog who was loved and taken care of, life would be so simple as a loved creature. He wishes all his worries and all of his hurt were gone, but alas he is not a dog nor a God. He is just Nickolas and he is sitting on a porch with a dog, alone.

Alone until someone opens the door behind him, "Love, I really just don't want to talk—"

"Woah, big boy, I am engaged."

Sapnap spins around, "Shit, sorry, I thought you were—"

"Karl?" Sam asks.

"Yeah," Sapnap nods, turning back around to look at the tree line, the tree line that he can picture in his future.

"It's okay, loverboy." They say, sitting down on the other side of Kally. "Karl and I get confused a lot, you know." They laugh.

"Yeah?" Sapnap asks, looking over to the black haired, green eyed, Sam.

"Yeah, you know the same hair colour and the same eye colour, I mean if you picture your boy—" your boy, your boy, your boy, your boy, "and me side by side, there is no difference." They joke.
