Once again, I was back in the library but without the presence of Thomaas. I have not heard from him or anybody in the castle since Thomaas told me what had happened between the realms. The idea that Callian might have been involved in trying to kill people was something I needed time to wrap my head around. I always knew that he and his family hated the other realms, but I never saw another reason other than that magic bearers could wield magic.

This new book I have begun reading was about the realms and the use of magic. It has sparked my attention especially after learning that Cassiopeia was a half-breed. Something inside me wanted to continue to learn more about the different types of magic. It also contained information on the surrounding kingdoms. There was the kingdom of Seidor,  The original home of all mortals. Then Rivetia where the river folk reside and then there was Lilantheas, The kingdom of the Elves. These books make them sound less scary than we thought in school. It's almost like they were trying to purposely scare us...

Lilantheas sounded like a beautiful place, with shimmering waterfalls and with their cities made from nature. It was ethereal. Elves were a very private species, and you would not find them lurking around other kingdoms unless there was a very good reason to do so.

A loud clearing of the throat interrupted my reading. I look up and see no other than the prince himself standing in front of me.

Gods, what does he want from me now?

He smirks down at me, and a warm feeling erupted in my belly. It was feeling like butterflies, but it felt comforting in a way. I was quick to shake the feeling away.

"I see you are busy with your readings."

"Yes, and you have interrupted me... have you come to ruin my life even more?"  His lips drop into a thin line, and he takes one step closer towards me.

"Would you perhaps like a break? Go outside for a while?"

I looked at him with genuine shock. He was being nice? I did not even know that was a word related to him. I kept searching his eyes to see if there was a hint of lies within them, but they were somewhat softer than usual. He was rather calm.

"You are going to let me go outside alone? You trust that I will not run away?"

"Bold of you to assume I would trust a mortal." There he is. "I'll be escorting you myself."

I roll my eyes and bring my attention back to my book. "I think I'll pass. This book was just getting interesting."

The book was quickly shut closed with a gushed of wind and then taken right out of my hands. The bastard was holding the book looking rather smug about it too. Gods, I was going to–

"Mages your thoughts are rather disturbing to hear."

"Get out of my head," I growled and stood up. "Give me my book back!" I lunged towards him and the book, but he was obviously quicker than me and moved his hand away making me walk right into his chest.

"From what I recall this is technically my book since you are in my library."  He looked down at my eyes and then down to where my hands sat on his chest. I was quick to remove them and step away from him.

I watched as he set the book down on the table and then looked back up at me again. Those dark red eyes began piercing through my soul. He took a few steps forwards and then extended his arm towards me. "Let me show you around the castle grounds. I assure you it would be a wonderful lesson."

"Fine, let's hurry this up, shall we?" Ignoring his arm, I walked right past him and made my way to the door, but he was too quick to catch up with my steps and I ended up following him out into the gardens.
