Jungkook's POV
"You know what you were doing, right?" I heard Jimin behind me. I tucked both of my hands inside my pocket while watching Sana and Tzuyu who were happily chatting with each other. "I know what I'm doing," I mumbled.
"There's a word 'give up', you know?" He jokingly uttered, and I turned to him with a stoic expression on my face. Does this guy think that I will give up easily? He gulped and immediately said that he was just making fun of me. "I've already heard that word and I'm not using it in any situation" I fire back.
"Can't you see? You don't have any chance and you know that" He emphasized while pointing to Sana and Tzuyu.
I sighed and said, "It's never too late." I went inside the penthouse, leaving Jimin. As long as I never heard any news that they're together then I will still continue pursuing Sana without her knowing. There's nothing wrong with giving it a try. If she doesn't want me then that's fine. What's not fine is that Tzuyu wins once again. Tzuyu always got good and better things while me… I've got nothing but bad luck. I hope Tzuyu will keep her promise.
Morning came and everyone was having the best time of their lives. They're all wearing their swimsuits, feeling the coldness of water on their body. It was Nayeon's plan to go swimming.
"Ya! Yoo Jeongyeon! Stop splashing water on me, I'm taking a picture!" Nayeon yelled. Jeongyeon laughed out loud at her cute girlfriend, happy to annoy the latter. Jihyo and Momo took care of the barbeque that they set outside since they thought it would be a good time eating outside.
"Minari, can we go deeper?" Chaeyoung whispered, hugging Mina's waist under water. Mina smiled secretly and glanced at Chaeyoung behind her shoulder. "Nope, baby. I don't want you to hold onto me when we go deeper."
"Meanie" Chaeyoung pouted. Mina chuckled, and turned around to see a sulking Chaeyoungie. "I'm sorry, love. I'm just worried because you don't know how to swim" Mina murmured, putting her arms around Chaeyoung's shoulder.
The two looked at each other's eyes genuinely, not caring about their friends nor their surroundings. "You're so pretty, Mina" Chaeyoung blurted. It causes Mina to blushed and hide her face by leaning on Chaeyoung's neck.
"Don't hide yourself, let me see your face", Chaeyoung laughed softly.
Mina pulled away on Chaeyoung's neck slowly and it really made Chaeyoung's heart jump in any direction.
"If you look at me that way, I might kiss you," Mina teased.
"What's stopping you?" Chaeyoung mumbled. The two found themselves leaning in. It's not their first time tasting each other's lips, but the nervous feeling they felt is still there like they don't want to fuck up and ruin everything.
As they pulled away, Chaeyoung kissed Mina's forehead and whispered I love yous.
Sana's POV
"You can't just teach them swear words, Chou Tzuyu!" I shouted, slapping her shoulder multiple times. She continues to laugh like a maniac and I just pretend that I'm mad at her.
"The kids are annoying though. The funny thing was they can't catch up with their lesson but they easily get it when I swear" She snickered.
As they continue to talk, they hear Momo and Jihyo having an argument. Both of them look in their direction and can't help but eavesdrop.
"Really? I caught you several times, Momo! Stop eating!" Jihyo growled, snatched the meat that was in Momo's mouth.
Momo look at her dumbfounded and said, "Did you just-"
She was cut off by Jihyo who glared at her. Momo thought that Jihyo's eyes could kill her so she couldn't do anything but wait for the food to be served.
"If they will always fight, they might end up being together" I heard Tzuyu uttered. I glanced at her and agreed. It is not impossible that Momo and Jihyo could end up having a relationship. Why did I say so? Because Mina and Chaeyoung are together. They always argue like cats and dogs. I always thought that Chaeyoung wouldn't find Mina attractive, since she always disagrees with Mina all the time.
"Momo seems like a kind lady and Jihyo…" Tzuyu chuckled. I laughed when she couldn't describe Jihyo's personality.
"She's kind but has a lot of anger" She continues.
I tilted my head and asked, "What do you mean?"
She pointed again at Mohyo's direction and Jihyo still scolded the poor Momo-chan.
"That's what I thought."
Tzuyu's POV
"What's your plan for your Senior High, Tzu?" Sana suddenly asked as she leaned on my shoulder.
I sighed and answered, "I don't know. I haven't made any decision yet."
She stared up at me and smiled, "Are you confused on what strand you will have?" I nodded and she giggled.
"Don't worry, you still have time. You don't need to rush."
I beam and nod. She's right, I still have plenty of time to think about what strand I will choose. But, I don't really care about that. I'm worried. Because I know I might not see her ever again.
I treasure those months and moments that I spend with her. Being friends with her is unexpected. Maybe, if Jungkook never asked me to go to the bookstore, I wouldn't meet her. And now, I have to deal with these feelings that even I can't understand.
"Tzuyu, can I talk to you for a minute?"
"Sure, Auntie! Let me just bring these books to their respective places."
When I was placing the books, a sudden hit of nervous feeling struck in me. I don't like whatever auntie will say to me. It doesn't sound like she is going to scold me or happy news.
I went to the back of the store and knocked on Auntie's office. When I opened the door, she was sitting on her chair. She smiles at me then slides the white envelope on her desk.
I picked it up and asked, "What is this?"
"It's a letter from your mom…"
Mama…
No, it can't be.
"Tzu? Are you okay?" I shake my thoughts away as I hear Sana's voice.
I nervously smiled and uttered that I'm okay and I just feel sleepy. "If you want to rest, you can go back to the penthouse" She replied.
I stood up and dust the sand on my shorts, "Yeah maybe I just need a rest. I'll talk to you when I wake up."
I left the shore with a heavy heart. Will I be okay with the news that I read? Why now when I'm already comfortable in this country?
I glanced one more time to see my friends happily doing what they wanted to do. I will be okay…
"I'm sorry, Tzu. But you need to follow what your Mama said in that letter" Auntie mumbled.
