Together

"Sapphire!" The gem named Ruby called. "Where are you?"
Ruby looked all around, until she finally saw her in the distance. Ruby was happy, but her smile faded when she saw her love limping towards her, covered in cuts and bruises.
Ruby immediately ran over to her.
"Sapphire! Your hurt! Who did this too you?!"
Sapphire looked down.
"I tried to fight something, but I wasn't strong enough. Please don't worry."
Ruby was surprised. Her friend never tried to defeat something on her own. Ruby stomped over the the monster that did this to Sapphire. Before Sapphire could stop her, Ruby started to fight the monster that harmed her friend. Getting thrown back, getting hit, cut, and more, Ruby had defeated the monster. Ruby picked up its gem and ran back to Sapphire. They immediately hugged. When they let go, Sapphire looked at Ruby.
"Ruby, your hurt! Please, don't do something like that ever again."
"I had to." Ruby replied.
"I know I'm not as strong as you, and it was a horrible idea to try and fight without you, but just because I wasn't able to beat it, doesn't mean you should do that to yourself!"
"I'm sorry... But I needed to do something. I don't like to see you hurt!"
"I know you don't, but I don't want you to do this to yourself. You have to be your number 1 priority, not me."
Ruby looked surprised.
"I can't do that." She said looking down. "I can't change that. Your the only one! I'm worthless, Sapphire! Worthless! I mean nothing to anybody!"
Sapphire gabbed her hands. "You mean everything," she said, getting closer to Ruby, "To me..."
Ruby smiled.
"But I can't have you doing battles alone." She told her. "Ruby, fuse with me."
Ruby gasped. "Of course I will!"

So, for hours, they tried a number of dances. But none of them worked. They just couldn't get it. Ruby sat down. "This is hopeless!" She yelled, tears rolling down her face. "I'm sorry, Sapphire, I failed us both..."
"No you didn't, the other gem replied. She helped Ruby up and kissed her for head. Ruby smiled and picked her up, spinning her around and around. Having too much fun, they didn't notice that both of them were fusing. Higher and higher, until Garnet came up and fell to the ground. She got up.
"We did it, Ruby... We did it..."

Rose came over a few minutes later.
"Ruby, Sapphire?" She asked. Then she gasped, and a small tear formed in her eye.
"You fused! I new you would!"
"Yes!" Garnet said happily. "We're now, Garnet!"
"I knew you could do it!" Rose replied.

So after that, Ruby and Sapphire stayed fused, and never unfused. They were happy together, and it stayed that way,
Forever.
