═══ CHAPTER FIVE :: STEALING POLICE CARS & OWEING A MILLION DOLLARS

Empty bottles gathered on the table as Julia Kim sat behind her laptop, oblivious to the number of beers she had drunk, as she was still sober enough to carry out her work.

It was way past midnight, or maybe it was nearing dawn; Julia didn't know. She was too occupied by her work to even keep track of time.

Han Lue peeked into the open area, wondering who was behind the furious typing and whiny sighs.

The brunet only came downstairs to find something to do to take his mind off things, but came across a frustrated Julia.

Without a word, the male took a seat next to the younger, grabbing a half-empty beer before taking a swig.

"What's up?" He asked, nodding towards the clock on the wall. "Why are we drinking at two in the morning?" He smiled, moving the bottle away when the female reached for it.

"I am drinking at two in the morning," Julia corrected. "You are going to sleep."

Han nodded. "Yeah, sure. Since you are insisting so much, I will keep you company." He rested his arm on the table, leaning his face against his palm.

"Go sleep, Han. Knock yourself out with a beer or something if you can't."

"According to my selective hearing, you want me to stay?"

Julia cracked a slight smile at his words, sighing in defeat. "I'm not gonna argue with you." She went back to typing on her laptop, not seeming to mind Han's studious gaze on her.

"You are handing in your resignation?" Han asked, assuming the female was bluffing when she spoke to her boss. "Really?"

"Why not?" Julia shrugged. "If we succeed, I won't need a job. And if we screw up, I won't have a job."

"You have a good way with words," the brunet commented. "I guess that's a trait you picked up from your father."

Han noted the way the female froze for a second before resuming her work, a small smile on her face. "Well, the only vocabulary I picked up from my mother are cuss words," she quipped.

"Since you can't get your work done, and I can't sleep," Han started, causing Julia to raise her brows. "Wanna go for a walk or something?"

"A walk?"

"I'd offer a drive, but I wouldn't want to force that on you if you don't like it."

Julia smiled upon hearing his words, realizing Han noted how she avoided going in cars and respected her decision.

Before she could say anything, Brian called out for them, walking into the open area along with the others. "Oh, they are here!" He announced, a cheery smile on his face as he walked towards them.

Mia grinned upon seeing the younger female. "What are you two doing up?" She asked, wiggling her brows at Julia.

Han stepped away, maintaining some space between them before looking at the others. "What's up?" He asked.

"We are going to get some invisible cars and we are missing a driver and a lookout," Roman explained before gesturing the two. "But here they are!"

Julia raised her brows questionably. "Lookout?" She pointed at herself, getting a nod from Dom. "Yeah, sure. Lead the way, I'll follow on my bike," she stated.

"Let's take a ride, boys."
