✧ ✦ ✧ ═══ CHAPTER SEVEN :: AFTER THE HEIST

Just like the night before, Han Lue walked into the open area of the automobile plant, smiling to himself upon seeing the very person he had been thinking about.

Julia strolled around the compound barefoot, beer bottle in hand as she went over the road plans for the last time.

After all, everyone relied on her road plans to avoid every obstacle.

It was a job that seemed impossible, but Brian and Dom trusted Julia enough to know she would work it out.

"Beer again?"

"Fuck!"

The brunette felt her heart jump out of her chest upon hearing Han's voice, startled out of her wits as the beer bottle slipped out of her hand.

The silence didn't last long, with the sound of glass shattering echoing in the empty compound.

Han's eyes widened at the scene before him, quickly speaking. "Don't move. Just stay where you are," he ordered, making his way towards the younger.

Before she could even argue, Julia was lifted off her feet. The brunet effortlessly carried her away from the glass shards, sitting her on top of the table. "You alright?" He asked.

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine."

"That's good."

Julia felt a flutter in her heart upon seeing Han clear up her mess, a blush rising to her cheeks when he walked back to check on her.

Fucking hell, what's wrong with me? She couldn't help but wonder, trying to stop her jittery movements.

"Sorry for that. Didn't think I'd scare you that much," Han apologized, sheepishly smiling. "Are you okay? No injuries, right?" He double-checked.

"Yep, I'm fine." Julia chuckled, seeing the brunet check her around for injuries. "Seriously, I'm alright. Nothing to worry about," she muttered.

Han nodded, sighing lowly. "That's good to hear," he responded. "Can't have our team's all-rounder injured on heist day," he stated, a genuine smile on his face.

It can't be. Julia knew that look all too well, brows furrowed instantly. No, it's not possible.

"No, stop." She shook her head, causing the brunet to chuckle. "Don't do that." Her words were just above a whisper, frozen in place as he moved closer.

Han knew. Han knew damn well what he was doing.

After all the endless pickup lines and eye-contacts that lasted longer than it was supposed to, he knew Julia felt the same way he did — and well; he wasn't the type to beat around the bush.

"Why not?"

"Because I might just fall for you."

Han smiled, hearing the words he wanted. "Then fall for me ..." He trailed off as he closed the space between them. "... I'll catch you."

Leaning in oh-so-carefully, Julia Kim held her breath at the proximity. Just like in the movies, she only saw him, with the rest of the world fading into the background.

And for the first time in his life, Han Lue felt nervous.

This girl in front of him made him feel so many emotions, and that scared him — but at the same time, he craved to be near her every second of the day.

It was crazy, honestly; seeing how it hadn't even been that long since they met, but the hold these two had on each other was unbelievable.

And here they were, millimeters away from their first kiss. But like all good things, this one came to an end as quickly as it started.
