I served the customer as they handed me the required amount of money, smiling to try and act like a positive worker. I was working at the corner shop right next to the record shop, Sifters. This was great as I could go and pick up a new purchase every time I was on break. This was just a temporary job until I could actually become a photographer, but it gave money so I couldn't complain.

I sat back and relaxed until the next customer came in. I would serve them, then wait, and the pattern repeated. When it was finally my break I quickly headed into Sifters, not wanting to waste any time.

Once I was in, I started browsing for any new records I could afford. I spent quite a large amount of time looking, before I set my eyes on the kind-of-new Stone Roses single One Love. I was about to pick it up before someone beat me to it, causing me to become annoyed.

"Scuse me, I was about to get that." I complained, gaining a chuckle from the person. I looked up and rolled my eyes when I realised who it was.
"Well, actually, I'm already holding it, so sorry!" Noel gave an playfully-evil grin and held the record above his head so that I couldn't reach it.
"Alright then, kid?" He continued the conversation casually, as I ignored him and jumped up high to try and reach the prized possession.
"Don't let 'em get it, Rkid!" I heard another voice from around the corner shout, which I assumed was Liam. He turned the corner and his eyes widened when he saw it was me.

I gave up trying to reach for it and acted casually once again, finally answering .
"I was fine until YOU stole my record." I over-exaggerated, gaining a small laugh from both of them.
"C'mon man, i'll help yer find a different one." Liam suggested, making me nod and smile.

Noel went to the counter to pay, while having a chat with the server, as I walked around the small shop with Liam. He held up each suggestion for me to buy, but none of them seemed to satisfy me. However, I didn't mind listening to his suggestions, as it made me aware of the music he was into. In the end, I didn't buy anything, but we stood outside the shop having a chat. I listened to him waffle on about his latest row with Noel, and how their Mum had made them go out someplace together to "'make up".

"Anyways, yer wanna go and grab something to eat? Waiting on that slow cunt's making me starving." He smiled as I felt guilt inside my gut.
"Sorry Liam, I gotta get back to work." I frowned as I pointed at the corner shop. He furrowed his brow before raising it.
"Didn't know you worked there! Nah, it's sound man." He stayed silent for a second.
"Then...What about tonight?"

My face lit up and I nodded enthusiastically, causing him to grin. We agreed to meet up at 7, just outside a little café not far from my house. Before I waved him goodbye, I gave him a quick peck on the cheek. His face turned pink but kept his confident look. I made my way back into the shop and sat back at the counter, counting down the everlasting hours until I could leave.
