When the moon has moved 180 degrees from it's new moon position,the sun,Earth,and the moon form a line.the moon's disk is as close as it can be to be fully illuminated by the sun,so this is called full moon
Whats special about a full moon is Full moons are traditionally associated with insomnia(inability to sleep),insanity(hence the terms lunacy and lunatic) and various "magical phenomena" such as lycanthropy.Psychologists,however,have found that there is no strong evidence for human behavior around the time of a full moon

We have a "new moon"when our moon's orbit around Earth moves it between Earth and the sun.from Earth,the moon's surface looks dark because the illuminated side is facing away from Earth
The New Moon occurs when the moon is on the same side of Earth as the sun.New Moons generally can't be seen.they cross the sky with the sun during the day,and the moon's shadow side is pointed toward Earth.a new moon is visible only during an solar eclipse
The new Moon is commonly known as a time to initiate beginnings.Something to also be mindful of is that when the new Moon occurs,it not only begins a new cycle,but also ends the phase that came before
