The sun has set and the sky has gradually became darker. I look at my phone and notice the time being around 11PM we must've taken longer to get ready than I thought. Yeji's driving us through a rich neighbourhood and soon the car comes to a stop.

She parks outside a large house and there's people walking in and out, the house seems busy. Laser lights shine their way through the windows, making the house look like its own nightclub.

"Is this a party?" I ask, unable to recognise any faces of the people hanging outside.

"Yeah, sorry if you didn't want to come. I didn't know they would be here," Yeji responds as she looks through her handbag.

"It's okay, I've never been to a party."

The rest of the street is dead silent and the sky has become completely pitch black, it was only this house with it's vibrant lights that was illuminating the roads. There are only some stars visible in the sky but the moon is glowing without any clouds in the way.

Most of the people are dressed in black or at least dark colours, the females wear a tight dress tugging their upper body which barely covers legs. On the other hand, the men just wear anything that happens to look good. But they don't seem right, I see some people with what seems to be guns and some of them wear masks. A group of about five have a small tattoo under their eye.

"Maeve, you have to be extremely careful at this one though," Yeji says suddenly and she holds my hands, looking right into me.

"Why..? Why do some of them have guns?" I ask and I can feel my face getting hotter.

"Can I trust you?" she asks back, not answering my own question.

I slowly nod at her and she sighs.

She shakes her head, "You can't say anything to anyone."

I nod faster than before while squeezing my eyes shut.

"You see in there," she says first and I turn to look outside the window. Her head comes beside mine and she points. "There may be some gangs in there but it will be okay if you stay close to me. We're only in there to meet my friends then we will be out, plus no gang members will come near you unless you offend or attract them. Here it's like they're normal people partying, they only bring their gun just in case."

I look out and see people laughing and having fun, it doesn't seem so scary. If you didn't know much about it, it would look like a innocent house party.

"Are you part of a gang?" I question her and she falls silent for a second.

"It's not that bad."

"So you are?"

"Kind of," she confesses as she runs her hand down her arm nervously.

"How could you tell me just now?" I say knocking some sense into her.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. You're from LA though. You must've seen it all before!"

She's not wrong. Annalise gets caught up in some pretty crazy stuff now and then because of her boyfriend, Santiago who sells some indecent things. He's probably in a gang himself.

"Only a tiny bit, my best friend in LA is sort of involved in that stuff. It's okay, I know how to keep my mouth closed," I confidently say but on the inside I'm dying of nervousness.

"You don't have to come in, I can drop you off home if you'd like."

"It's okay, I only live once but hopefully this isn't how I die," I awkwardly laugh but she doesn't laugh with me.

"Then we're good to go. I promise I won't get you involved in any shit that comes up. Just stick by me and you'll survive," she finishes and we both get out of the car.

"It's okay, I trust you."

As we walk past the gangsters hanging round the front, I keep my head down while Yeji's head is right up. She opens the door and I walk in behind her.

The inside looks bigger than the outside, we enter a massive room crowded with people and it has a pair of stairs curving up to the second floor. A giant chandelier hangs from the ceiling and it glistens in the colourful lights.

I close my eyes tightly whilst walking through the crowd, worrying if people accidentally hit me with their waving arms. I finally think we have found our way out of the crowd until I feel my body slam against a much more harder body which is obviously not Yeji.

My eyes fly open and I find a male towering over me, he's staring right into my eyes and I apologise but he doesn't budge. His hair slightly sticks to his forehead as his skin glistens with sweat.

I stand there scared and alone, I don't know this man and it worries me to death. He smirks at me while he tries to remain up right, I can smell the strong scent of alcohol right from him.

"Taehyung what are you doing!?" I hear Yeji shout over the music.

He turns around wobbly, "Hey Yeji.. Who's your friend?"  Taehyung slurs while moving his brown hair out of his face.

"No one for you to hang around, Taehyung go home. You're heavily drunk!" she yells and he rolls his eyes.

"Always so bossy," he mumbles and he walks away back through the crowd but not in the direction of the door.

Yeji looks at me and she could tell I was terrified but I sigh in relief since Yeji knows him.

"It's okay, come on let's go," she grabs my hand and we go upstairs where the music is quieter.

I come with Yeji as we open every door, we have many doors to look through until I turn around and Yeji's completely disappeared.

"Yeji?" I call but receive no response.

I bite my upper lip out of nervousness before continuing to open and look through one door at a time. The rooms are stuffed with people, one of the last rooms I open, I find empty.

It's dark inside and quiet, I step in and turn on the light to reveal a girl poking her head out of the bed sheets with someone else under the covers.

"Ahh get out!" she squeals, covering herself with the sheets and my eyes almost pop out of their sockets.

"Why the fuck are you yelling you crazy bitch?" a deeper voice groans while he huffs.

That's when I realise what they were doing and I turn around instantly.

"Sorry! I'll leave!" I gasp and run out slamming the door behind me.

I can't seem to find Yeji anywhere, she's not answering any of her calls either. I'm walking past more rooms on my way out until I smell a sweet scent of food leaking through a slightly open door.

Unable to control myself, my feet move on their own chasing the amazing smell and I end up in the kitchen.

The kitchen only has a few people inside and it's not very bright inside either. I eye the food on the counters and take a brownie from a tray.

A tall figure walks past me but I can see them suddenly stop in their tracks and look at me in my peripheral vision.

"Plane buddy?" a voice says and I turn around straight away.
