"Thank you!" I excitedly say taking the packet of candies from the cashier. Afterwards I wait for Jungkook to finish getting his items while leaning against the wall. After a few minutes Jungkook comes to the cashier holding two boxes of cans of beer. I roll my eyes at the sight, I've never drank before and I don't ever plan to in the future.
Jungkook's now got two heavy plastic bags hooking on his hand and he leaves the store with me trailing behind. As we go outside I realize the city life has gotten much quieter and no one was out at all. I bring my phone out of my pocket to check the time but as I press the power button the screen stays black and empty. It's dead. I heave a sigh, speeding my steps to catch up with Jungkook.
We're walking side by side, the silence is loud until it suddenly gets disturbed when we walk past an alleyway filled with gangsters. I side eye them while Jungkook's eyes are ahead of him, he doesn't even give the tinniest glance and they're already threatening us.
"It's him! Jungkook, that filthy guy that ruined our plan!" one of the men yell and point. My eyes grow wide and I move my sight to Jungkook who's completely in his own world.
I look behind us to see some of them cracking their knuckles and I tug Jungkook's thumb to gain his attention. His head slightly turns to face me and I can tell he's oblivious to the people surrounding us.
"Jungkook, who are they!?" I shout at him and he finally looks around us.
I hear him angrily curse under his breath when he clutches my hand and suddenly begins running. He's running so fast it's almost like he's dragging me with him, my feet are usually unable to move at that great speed but the amount of panic in me causes them to move by themselves.
"Get your guns!" one shouts.
Tears escape my eyes as the words get thrown out of the man's mouth and I hold Jungkook's hand for dear life. The motorcycle is still so far down the road, so far that we will probably be dead by the time we reach it. I let out a scream and Jungkook's hand slams over my mouth.
"Shut the fuck up! I'll get caught too!" he loudly whispers and my tears begin to flow even more.
"They're right behind us though," I cry before looking behind my shoulder, "They've got guns too!"
My face is now drenched with tears, my free hand wiping my eyes.
"Don't look behind you," Jungkook responds and I nod immediately.
We run for a little longer and we begin to hear the roaring sound of motorcycles chasing us from a distance. Some of his enemies still travel by feet. Jungkook leads me back onto the sidewalk and as we run past a bus stop we disappear into an alleyway. This time it's empty.
My back smashes against the wall with Jungkook's body right in front of mine. The alleyway is narrow which leaves almost no space in between us.
"Jungkook-," I whimper and he gently presses his thumb over my lips, sealing them closed.
"They'll hear us," he whispers while we stare into each other's dark orbs.
His thumb then wipes a tear from my cheek and I try to smile through my pain.
We're both breathing heavily and I can feel his icy breath landing on the side of my face. My face suddenly begins to burn but I can't tell if it's his breath or what.
"Where the fuck did he go!?" we hear someone yell and Jungkook's head abrupty falls onto my shoulder, his nose brushing over the skin on my neck.
His hand reaches the back of my head, pushing it down onto his own shoulder. My head stays there as he moves his hand down to my back.
I can feel my stomach twist and tickle, my forehead is beginning to produce sweat and my cheeks tint red. He holds me close, his other arm bends to hold my head down and his bags slide down his forearm to hang above his elbow.
That's when we hear heavy footsteps approaching the alleyway. The light that shines on us from the streetlights vanish and I hug Jungkook's back tightly out of fear.
The footsteps stop and Jungkook doesn't even bat an eye. My eyes squeeze shut, tears still rolling down my face.
"Tch, kids these days. Find a room!" a man's unattractive raspy voice says and he runs off.
"Can't find him, let's just leave it for next time!" another man calls and the sound of footsteps and motorcycles fade when the distance between us and them grows.
Jungkook then removes himself off of me and he doesn't look at me.
"Sorry," he mumbles, scratching his neck awkwardly.
I heave a sigh of relief, "It's okay you saved us," I reply positively.
He nods, facing the entrance of the alleyway, "Kay let's go, the motorcycle is just down there."
