The ride back was silent, neither of us said a word and all I could hear was the aggressive wind and the motorcycle.
We enter the apartment to reveal even more darkness, Jungkook opens the light and tosses his keys on the counter.
"You tired yet?" he asks suddenly and I respond with a nod.
"Long day."
"I have a spare mattress if you want to use it, I can drag it into the living room," he offers.
"That would be nice," I agree before splitting up with him. I enter the living room and sit on the couch.
A table ahead of me displays a few picture frames. I admire the beautiful scenery in the photos, my eyes scan each one until I see one with three young boys. Some other recognisable faces freeze in the background but most of the ones up front look the most familiar. One of them have their hair dyed brown while the other two have the same black locks. I can tell who the two are but the other one doesn't give me any ideas. They're all smiling joyfully, they look like they're having the time of their life.
I lift myself off of the couch to take a closer look, kneeling in front of the frames I notice three names written at the bottom "Hoseok, Sunwoo, Jungkook".
You can definitely tell who is who. As I'm about to pick up the frame into my hands the door swings open, Jungkook makes his way inside, struggling to stand up straight with the massive mattress leaning against him.His eyes immediately dart at me while I hold the frame. A scowl appears on his face at the sight, he drops the mattress and thunders over to me, snatching the photo from my hands.
"What do you think you're doing!?" he angrily shouts, causing me to flinch.
"I just wanted to see-"
"Stop looking at stuff that aren't yours."
I fold my arms, "Why though? You were cute as a kid."
Jungkook shakes his head as his expression softens but his brows remain furrowed, "That's not the point."
"Then what is the point?" I stand up and my hands fall to my hips.
"It doesn't matter, here's your mattress."
"Uh no. Answer me first! I want to know."
He clenches his jaw, "Why would I have to tell you? We're not even friends."
"You can at least do something for me since you almost got us killed earlier."
I raise my eyebrows and he pauses. Rolling his eyes, he returns to the abandoned mattress after placing the photo back down.
"Fine."
After setting up my mattress that has pillows and blankets slung on it, I fall onto the soft surface.
Jungkook eyes me as I wrap myself into the blanket like a burrito."Are you not going to shower or at least change?"
"I didn't think of that.. I don't have anything to wear," I mutter, becoming louder each word.
Without giving me a response, Jungkook leaves the room and then returns with a fresh towel and some clothes. His clothes?
He tosses them onto my lap and I lazily get up from the cloud-like mattress.
"Go shower, it's to the right in my bedroom. You can use my soap for now," he says and I lightly blush from the thought of using his things.
I thank him before entering the bathroom.
There's no bath tub but instead there's a large walk-in shower. I strip myself and then set foot in it. Twisting the tap to release the water. It flows onto my skin and I tip my head back, enjoying the warm sensation.
Minutes later, I exit the bathroom, drying my hair with the towel. The strong manly scent stains itself on me and I almost drown in it.
My body is dressed up with a black oversized hoodie with long adidas shorts wrapped around my lower area.
I walk into the living room to see Jungkook sat on the couch, scrolling on his phone. He looks up at me and doesn't say a word. His eyes linger on my frame and my cheeks tint pink.
"I might go to sleep now," I finally let out as I approach my mattress.
"Okay, I'll tell you about the photo in the morning then."
I give him a nod in agreement and crawl onto the mattress, stuffing my face in the pillow tiredly.
I hear him let out a breathy laugh that lasts a few seconds which makes me smile into it. I tug the blanket over me and lie flat on my stomach.
My eyes shut and I fall asleep. Almost an hour later, Jungkook gets off the couch when the sound of the door at the entrance opens. Hoseok and Jimin must be home.
"Maeve wake up!" a girly voice shouts and I groan.
I roll onto my stomach, my face digging into the soft surface. "Mom, five more minutes."
Yeji hands land on her hips as her eyebrows raise, "I'm not your mom!"
My eyes finally flutter open and her figure towering over me fills my sight. Lifting myself up, I eye around the room, no one else is inside other than me and Yeji.
"Yeji, where is everyone?" I ask.
"Out and you are me are going out next."
I roll my eyes, "I can't be bothered to go to school. I'm too tired."
The girl walks to the kitchen, grabbing a bowl full of fruits from the counter and then returns to me, carefully placing it onto my lap.
"Well we have no choice. We can make up an excuse to leave school early though," she softly smiles while fixing my hair.
I nod in agreement before picking up a strawberry and stuffing it into my mouth. We stay silent for a few more seconds until Yeji eyes me from top to bottom.
"Hey are you wearing... Jungkook's clothes?" a smirk creeps onto her face.
My cheeks tint red at her words and I push her shoulder back lightly. A giggle escapes her mouth and I cross my eyebrows tightly.
"I didn't ask for it!" I squeak and a loud laugh explodes out of her.
She pokes my nose as if I'm a baby, "You're so cute sometimes. Come on let's get ready for school," she taps my knee after I have devoured my food.
