When Mia got home from school, she went up to her room to get into more comfortable clothes. As she picked out her outfit, her phone screen lit up. She saw Nick's message.

ByeMia tossed her phone on her bed and sighed. She didn't think it was a problem at all. She didn't really use Instagram that often, only when Christian would send her funny videos he found.
She finally changed into a shirt she got at a Paramore concert she went to and some shorts. Then she grabbed her phone and walked back downstairs to actually eat something. Sylvia was out buying groceries and her dad wasn't back from work yet, so it was just her alone. She didn't mind it. Although, sometime she felt scared to be alone so she would call Christian to keep her company. He would stop whatever it was that he was doing and run to her house.
Mia looked around the pantry for something to snack on, but found it almost empty. No wonder Sylvia was gone. She eventually found some fruit snacks and a caprisun. She figured she would wait for Sylvia to arrive with more food.
She grabbed her snacks and walked to the living room to watch some tv. Once she sat down, her phone screen lit up again, this time it was Christian calling her through facetime. She happily answered.
"Hey, idiot." Mia answered.
"Hi, ugly." Christian said.
"Where's DeeDee? she's much more fun than you."
At the mention of his sister, Christian rolled his eyes. "You're luck you don't have any siblings. I would definitely hang out with them more than you."
"You can hang out with my cousins. They like sports. I think one of them is the captain of his high school's football team." Mia mentioned. She missed her cousins all the time. She considered them her siblings since she was an only child.
"Captain of the football team? Please don't tell me he's like the ones in the movies that date the head cheerleader and win prom king."
"Have you been watching glee or something?"
"Yes!" She heard Devyn yell in the background.
"No! You're lying!" Christian immediately responded. "I don't want glee . . . I don't know what that is."
"Is this the part where I start singing don't stop believing and you join in?" Mia teased. She wasn't a big fan of the show, but she did watch a couple episodes.
"No, don't ever do that. But I was wondering if you would like to go to see a movie with . . me?"
You probably sound stupid. Why did you even ask-
"Okay."
What?
"Um, what?"
Mia chuckled. "Yeah, I'll go with you. Can't be Saturday because Brie invited me to her party. She still hasn't texted if you can come, but we can definitely go see a movie."
And in that moment, Christian felt like the most confident person ever.
Don't be a dumbass, ask her to prom!
Well, he wasn't that confident . . not yet. But one thing was certain, he was going to ask her before Nick.
