Penelope knew that to compete successfully with Blake, and she would need to improve her strength and conditioning significantly. She went to talk to her father, Alpha Ryder, about the situation so that she could get some advice on how to handle it.
Penelope approached her father while he was working in his office and said, "Father, I need your help." Her father was very understanding and offered his assistance.
"My youngling, what is it that you require?" Alpha Ryder posed the question as he raised his head from the paperwork before him.
"Yes, sir," was the response that Alpha Ryder gave.
Penelope declared with conviction, "I have to get back into my workout routine."
I answered him by saying, "I need to get stronger so that I can defend myself and stand up to Blake," I explained why.
The sight of his daughter brought a smile of satisfaction to Alpha Ryder's face, revealing his pride in her.
"Penelope, I am so happy you want to improve yourself. On the other hand, because your father is Alpha, you have already established yourself in a prominent position within the pack.
"Why do you feel you have to compete with what you have achieved in the past?"
Penelope took a breath that was luxuriously deep and drawn out for as long as it lasted.
"Because I've had it up to here with you, father, making fun of me, and I won't put up with it any longer."
I won't take it. I want to defend myself without giving the impression that I am helpless and do that effectively."
Alpha Ryder signaled his assent with a head nod, indicating that he agreed.
"I see. Regarding your training, I am dedicated to providing any assistance that I can muster up at this time. Penelope, you owe it to me to reassure me that the circumstances you are currently facing will not be too much for you to handle.
"Your ability to fight is evaluated independently of who you are because it has nothing to do with who you are."
Penelope expressed her gratitude to her father for his assistance and responded, "Father, I understand." Penelope expressed her appreciation to her father for all of his help.
Penelope followed Alpha Ryder as he stood up from his chair and led the way toward the training grounds. She acted on his directives and trailed behind him. She was introduced to Logan, a savage warrior who was his instructor. Logan was his mentor. The way she carried herself wowed Logan.
"Logan will train you," said Alpha Ryder.
"The other members of the pack have a high opinion of him as a fighter, and they believe he is one of the most skilled members of the group.
"Those knowledgeable in this field are carefully guiding your experience," they said.
While Penelope was the focus of Logan's attention as he examined her, he made his observations in a manner that was consistent with that focus. He was very forthright with his assessment, stating, "You don't appear to be much."
Penelope refused to let him get under her skin. The most important part of what she had to say was that people shouldn't believe everything they see. She repeatedly emphasized this point.
Logan nodded and smiled. "Good. You are tenacious in your pursuit. Because of this, I want to increase my knowledge. How about we get this party started, shall we? What do you say?"
In the following weeks, Logan put Penelope through a tough training plan he had made for her. She was ordered to fight, protect herself, and gain as much body weight as possible.
She exerted much effort to get stronger and show off her capabilities to herself and others. She did this to prove that she was capable. As a direct consequence of this, she ran herself completely ragged.
In the beginning, it presented quite a few difficulties. Penelope had a hard time staying at a healthy weight, and even moderate exercise sometimes made it hard for her to breathe.
On the other hand, Logan never gave up trying to change her mind about him by convincing her to reconsider their relationship. He continued trying to put more and more pressure on her until she could perform as well as the others in the group.
Penelope noticed a rise in her confidence level as she progressed further in her training. As a result of her training, she experienced improvements in both her mental and physical toughness.
She was well aware that she still had a significant distance to travel, but she was determined not to give up at any stage of the journey.
She solemnly said to herself as she punched the punching dummy, "I'm not going to let Blake or anyone else bring me down."
I conversed with myself and vowed not to allow Blake or anyone else to bring me down. "I am strong. I am able.
"Also, no one can change my mind about the stance that I have taken on this issue."
