-Flashback-

Aemond had never been more confused in his life.

He'd barely slept; how could he when his mind was telling him numerous things at once? His 'lover' Alys had been imprisoned for reasons unbeknownst to him and his closest friend, who he wasn't even sure was his friend anymore, was getting married that day. He knew he shouldn't be bothered by it, especially since he had subtly hinted he would take Alys as his wife.

But he was bothered.

All of a sudden he couldn't care less about Alys. All he wanted was Y/N. He knew it wasn't fair to her, for him to ignore her all this time and then suddenly rush to the princess but he also knew that if he didn't act now, he would lose Y/N forever to someone she never wanted to marry in the first place.

He had been pacing in his chambers all morning, running his hand through his silver hair that he hadn't yet brushed to perfection.

Aemond was a man who if once had his sights set on something, would do whatever was necessary to acquire it. He'd claimed the largest dragon in the world at the age of ten, why was simply confessing his love proving to be an even scarier situation?

"You're Aemond Targaryen, first of his name" he mumbled to himself as he heaved another sigh, arms now clasped behind his back "you can do this"

He wasted not another moment in changing out of his sleep attire and into his formals while rehearsing what he would say to his Y/N. He was on his way to crash her wedding, whatever he needed to say, had to be well thought or else he would just be ruining her wedding and his chances of winning her back.

He was still unsure of where the sudden fancy for Alys came from. He had never really cared for her and now looking back at whatever had happened these past few weeks, with him almost taking her as his wife, he immediately scoffed at the notion.

I belong to Y/N and to her alone, he thought to himself, I was made for her by the gods the same way she was made for me.

He had a hunch that even if Y/N found it in her heart to forgive him and give him another chance, her father Daemon might not be so welcoming. No, they would have to depart from Dragonstone, until everything simmered down.

He knew time was of the essence, so he dashed out the castle, into the rain and toward the far end of the cliffs where Vhagar usually was found, curled up, napping.

After a good amount of sweet talking and persuasion, Aemond managed to wake his grumpy old dragon from her sleep and have her await him at the castle lawns, a bit closer to the west exit.

"Gods, I hope this works" Aemond muttered as he nervously walked back inside and toward the great hall where the wedding ceremony had already begun.

-End of flashback-

"I must be honest with you" Y/N giggled as she threw her head back into Aemond's chest, closing her eyes as she basked in the calming sensation of the cool breeze blowing against her face "I didn't take you for a man who would confess his love in front of such an audience, much less at the wedding of the girl you are confessing to"

"Oh, is that so?" Aemond cheekily grinned, his one arm protectively resting on her waist as the other firmly gripped the reigns of his dragon who was circling the skies above Harrenhal "did you not think I'd be bold enough?"

"I simply thought you'd prefer to do so in the comfort of the library or perhaps when taking a walk through the gardens" she hummed, running her fingers along his knuckles of the hand that held the reigns "you are bold yes, but I assumed you'd like to do these sort of things private"
