Y/N had decided to take residence in the vale, to get her mind off everyone and the entire mess regarding the line of succession.

She knew it was irresponsible of her, to disappear without letting anyone know of her whereabouts but she convinced herself it was for the best. She was far too angry with Jace to go to Dragonstone and felt betrayed by her own father. Even back at the Red Keep, she would be no more than a hostage to Aegon and now since she had managed to sneak out, she was well aware that there would be guards posted outside her door to prevent it from happening again.

A prisoner with a fancy cell.

So, to avoid diving herself into insanity, she left Harrenhal and flew right to the Vale, the only thing that her mother had left behind for her.

The cool air was the first welcome she received as she arrived on dragonback, emerging from the clouds. The sun was beginning to set by the time she'd arrived, painting the skies with an arsenal of shades of pinks, purples and oranges; Almost like her mother herself was welcoming her home from the heavens.

The Vale was a lot more calm and serene compared to both of her prior residencies. Upon her arrival, she was first acquainted with her mother's sister and had made it known to her that no one was aware of her presence and she would like for it to stay that way.

The last thing she needed was for those power-hungry men to show up here as well and ruin the peace.

Despite being surrounded by the calming nature of Runestone, her ambition to reclaim her crown had only been fueled after her recent encounter with her father.

He made me want that fucking throne, she thought to herself, so I will fight for it and I will retake it so that the realm might not fall into the hands of men like him, driven only by a lust for power.

Whilst Y/N had managed to find a momentary recluse, things were getting even more heated with her absence and it seemed to work in favour of a certain someone.

While Daemon as well as Aegon had taken note of the princess' sudden disappearance and had immediately begun planning a deployment of search parties, Alys made use of the chaotic situation to her advantage.

She was of course not aided with her potions but she was aware men were fool enough to fall for her beauty even without her using any magic. The older woman managed to entrance the guard that worked the night shift at the dungeon and he had aided her in planning her escape with her promising him she would let him bed her once she was out in the city.

Alys of course never kept her promise and disappeared in search of a mercenary who she bribed with coin she'd stolen from a shop she waltzed into at the streets of silk.

She was far too bitter about the Targaryen-Royce princess foiling her plans to lure prince Aemond into a marriage with her and she wasn't going to let that little bitch get away with it. Making use of her dark magic, she was able to see where the princess was- the Vale.

"Will the job be done?" she coldly asked, pulling at the hood of her cloak.

"You needn't worry lady, it will be finished by the morrow" the man sitting across her assured.

As the mercenary left for the Vale to deliver to Alys the princess' head, Alys proceeded with the latter part of her plans. She forged letters to both king Aegon and prince Daemon which stated that princess Y/N had been killed by the other's council which was the reason behind her disappearance.

She was aware that the rogue prince was well known to give into his anger and act on impulse. Creating more animosity between Aegon and Daemon would result in a gruesome fight and since Daemon was one of the best fighters in the realm, it was safe to bet that Aegon would not survive. If Aegon dies, Aemond would very well be the next to take his place and thus make Alys not a mere princess but a queen once she would drug him with the love potion all over again.
