I've always been a morning person. When I opened my eyes, I enjoyed the sound of birds singing during summertime. I would get up just a little earlier to enjoy a quiet sunrise. Of course, those times got difficult when it was winter. Everything was just a little harder that time of the year, but what I liked the most about my personality -not to brag- was my ability of being able to turn everything into something enjoyable, create a happy moment, or memory, even for myself.
Enough of that. I peeked through the window of my new house. It was damn quiet, and the sun was still down. That means it was freaking early, but I couldn't care less. I yawned, a lot. But eventually got up and went straight to the kitchen, another one of my favorite things to do. Through the years, I managed to love a good cup of tea, and collect every rare one I could find during my trips. The best things in life were hidden in plain sight.
As I walked to the cupboard and grabbed everything I needed, I notice the sky turning a beautiful shade of light orange. The sun was about to come out, so I had to hurry up if I wanted to turn my life into a novel and watch it sitting down on the window with my tea in hand.
I grabbed a kettle, it was one I bought on a trip to China. It had beautiful wood parts and was decorated with both red and green flowers. I made my morning choices very carefully, so I looked at every teabag I could possibly have. I went for one that was anti-stress just because I could feel maybe this day was gonna be a little harder than usual. Who's gonna judge me anyways? It's not like I have anyone but Meredith to share everything with.
-You won't say a thing. Right, Mer?
She just meowed at me, and it wasn't because she liked me. It was because she was hungry. Note to self: don't have children. Cats are already ungrateful enough. You watch them grow, love them, feed them. And this is what you get in return. A call for more food.
-You're not the boss, you know? But I love you just the same. -I said as I placed more food in her bowl and pet her head.
Of course, she decided to plot against me and made me trip while grabbing my kettle.
-OH MY GOD, MEREDITH!!! I ALMOST BURNT MYSELF BECAUSE OF YOU. BAD KITTY.
Okay, at this point I believe she had a whole personality and was doing everything on propuse.
I ignored her and poured the water in the cup. Then the teabag was inside and I was FINALLY at peace, sat on my window and watching the waves crashing.I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. What the hell? Meredith was not gonna make this a stressful day. She was not gonna do that. As fast as I could, I grabbed my phone, earphones, changed, did a little makeup. The fact that I was rushing out didn't mean that I wasn't feeling like looking cute, so I grabbed my red lipstick and brushed my hair. Opted for a ponytail with a little bow on top. I actually was starting to feel like the long hair was enough, wanted to go for a change for a while. Anyways, I ran downstairs, double checked I had everything.
Earphones? Check.
Phone? Check. Wait. Do I have battery? I do. Nice.
Do I look presentable? Meh.
Sunglasses? Check.
Cute outfit? Definitely.
I walked to the patio and grabbed my bike. Why not? It's not like I had to ask for permission to do everything.
-Everything okay, Miss Swift?
Maybe I did have to "ask" for permission. Didn't feel like being chased by my bodyguards so I just told him the truth.
-Yeah, everything's fine, Mike, thanks for asking. Just feel like enjoying this beautiful day on a ride.
-That's actually wonderful. I'll get the car ready for you.
-That won't be necessary. I'll just drive around on my bike. One of you guys can follow with the car, though.
He just nodded, and I gave him a smile.
How I needed this. I won't be able to describe.
The sound of life, it was just wonderful. I couldn't close my eyes as much as I wanted because of course, didn't really feel like ending my life just yet and crash.I followed the bike to wherever it felt like taking me, with slow music accompanying me, coming from my phone. My skirt had pockets. How cool is that? I could put my phone there. Because it didn't reach the basket. Yes. My bike has a basket. If you don't have a bike that has a basket, you're completely boring. And don't enjoy life enough.
-Taylor? - I heard someone kind of screaming from a car I was passing by with my bike. Thankfully, I was riding kind of slow. But it still scared me to death since I was just staring at the view of the beach.
-Karlie? - Now this is probably what I was talking about when I felt it was gonna be a stressful day. -Hi! - I just managed to keep riding, smile, and wave.
That was close.
To what, though?
Thank god my bodyguards were behind me, because I kind of ended up not knowing fully where I was.
My mind was on something -someone- else.
-It's okay, you can move on without closure. - I said to myself while I was looking at the sky. Everything was just peaceful after that little mantra I mumbled to myself.
I got home sweating a little bit, but my hair and makeup where intact. I'll give myself points for that.
My eyes were tired from the sun, and my cheeks looked sun kissed, probably should've taken the sunscreen with me. But who actually uses their bike basket for something that's not cute, like carrying flowers? I was not gonna carry a sunscreen everywhere with me. Nope. Not cute.
Why did everything have to fit an aesthetic in my life? Never bothered to explore the answer to that, actually. Maybe it's a flaw. Who doesn't have some?
My phone rang one time, which meant I just had a social media notification.
-Karlie Kloss is now following me? What the heck?!
So much for closure.
