-So, what are our plans for today again? -My best friend asked without looking away from her phone and biting her nail, looking stressed.
-I religiously should work out, wanna join me? -I knew she wouldn't say no, it's an important day for both of us. She nodded, and looked up at me. Locked her phone. -I thought we could just head to the hotel suite. I mean, we're gonna spend most of the day there anyways. We should make the most out of it. -I was standing in front of her, in the kitchen, wearing a Victoria's Secret pajamas set, with silk shorts and shirt, barefoot.
-Ugh. I'm so stressed already. Nothing can go wrong. And what do I do? Feel anxious anyways. -She threw her head back. Karlie was sitting on one of the chairs around the table. I grabbed her phone from her hand.
-Unlock. Please. -I suggested lifting my eyebrows and giving her the biggest smile I could.
-What? Why?
-Do you trust me?
-More than anything. Gimme. -She pressed the buttons on her phone and gave it to me.
I opened Spotify again. Because, speakers. I only had to think about what to play. I chose "Dancing in the Moonlight" and left her phone on the counter as I started to pretend I was singing with a fork as my microphone. She was starting to give me one of her magical smiles again and just staring at me, with her head resting on her chin.
-Oh no.
-Oh, yes. -I started moving my body to the beat and pointing at her with my finger and moving it up, making her get up from her chair. She started walking towards me.
-I love this song, Tay. -She was looking for a microphone too.
-I'll lend you mine, Kloss. -And winked at her. I started jumping up and down because I had to show my excitement someway.
If her smile could get any bigger, I'd definitely cry at the view. She started flipping her hair and looking at me with her green piercing orbs.
She mouthed a "thank you" acting like she was still singing. I patted her shoulder.
It was a very stressful day for me. Although I was already anxious since I was the co-chair, making her happy was one of my main goals. I gave her a gentle and soft smile, as I grabbed one of her hands, and squeezed it in both of mine. She looked down at our hands and then at me.
-Everything's going to be alright. You're gonna look beautiful, as always. I'm sure you'll love the theme cause, duh. A lot of our friends will be there. -I rubbed patters on her hand with my finger. -You're gonna make new friends too! Connections are important, but making friends is a more humanizing way of calling it, so we'll say that.
-Shouldn't you be the anxious one? -She bit her bottom lip and her cheeks were turning pink, looked down at our hands as she started petting mine with her thumb, too.
-Knowing me, we had lots of meetings and planning in advance, of course. I like to say that nothing can go wrong. I was kind of annoying. -I laughed as she looked up at me to the sound of her laugh too. -So, we got pretty much everything covered. No room for mistakes. And you know what, Kar? After all, we don't matter that much. What matters is the reason we're there, and what we can make with all of that. I heard there's a pretty cool after party. -I winked at her, she knew I rented a whole floor at the coolest hotel.
-Okay. Yeah. -She nodded, excitement reaching her eyes and making them sparkle. We let go and she started pacing around the house -You're right. Do you feel like going to the gym or maybe we can take the yoga mats to the hotel and try something new, I could use a chill workout from home.
