Chapter three

After spending the past fifteen minutes walking through the thick forest, listening to Damion tormenting Chase by calling him puppy, we finally reached the end of it we ended up in what looked like a small horse paddock. Walking through it you could see that this wasn't a horse paddock, looking closer these horses had pure white coats and velvet black wings. I was so captivated in them that I went to take a step towards them.

Chase suddenly grabbed my arm and pulled me back. "I wouldn't do that if I was you. These aren't very fond on being touched. Trust me when I say 'better safe, than sorry'. I've been chased down by one of those and they won't stop till they feel that their satisfied with how tiered you are, or if they catch you they would properly kill you in a heartbeat." He says pulling me back to the side near Damion.

"If I may ask what are they?" I ask looking at them.

Damion laughs "They Jay-lee are Hordridellia's or for short Hordri's and there from the winter court. And they're the most dangerous horse like creatures you will ever meet. And I also know that for a fact, nearly killed me one did, if it wasn't for its owner and it took me two months to recover from the amount of damage it cause me. See, cause unlike Puppy here. I can't shape shift into something that can run for such a long distance. So pretty much destroyed the all the Wisp copies of me and then sensed me out and as I said before nearly killed me."

As we walk down the edge of the Hordri's paddock, Chase was telling me how and why one of them had chased him down till he was severely injured and tiered. "... I was just standing there and I decided to have some fun thinking it was harmless. Oh how I was dead wrong. After throwing a few rocks near it, it turned and faced me I change and howled at it by the time I tried to run I was attacked by it. I guess I was running for about five hours from it when I changed back and begged for forgiveness. It only just speared my life. And that's why they to me are the most dangerous little pricks I have ever met, even worst then Redcaps." I gave him a look. "They're like midget people. But, they have razor sharp teeth like, those things you call sharks. And they love that they can tear you too pieces in seconds"

"Umm ok then that's just wrong and sick." I say feeling as though I just drank something foul. "Anyways what are we doing here?" I ask.

"There's a passage around here that we can use. But, it's a bit of a bitch to get to you see, those Hordri's love to hang around this one for fun. They like to see who's daring enough to try passing them and using it. Only a Hordri's owner can handle them or if them can sense that they can trust you or there's just something about you. I wish that could happen to me but as I said nearly killed by one. So fat chance for Robbie and I and we can risk getting you hurt." Chase explains as best as he could.

I look around at these Hordri's and think 'how can they be so dangerous' they look fine to me. Then in the corner of my eye I spot something. Turning around and looking back into the forest and see a boy. I stop walking causing Chase to run into me. Nearly knocking me over, I steady myself I look back to the forest. This time deep violet eyes look back at me. Before I know what is happening it comes running out of its place.

The first words I hear are from Damion. "RUN!"

And then Chase howl, then I turn around to see where both Damion and Chase we're standing now stood a huge white wolf and a huge black raven. Chase lowers down quickly. Somehow I know he wants me to jump on. So, I jump onto Chase's back and hold onto as much of his fur as I could. And in a jolt he took off on a high speed run.

I hear howls coming from behind us. Daring I look back to see another huge wolf, the same size as what Chase was right now. But this one was black but looking closer it had a white tail tip. Then the worst thing happened. I felt the claws of the Hordri clamp over my shoulders and dig in. I could feel the nails deep in my shoulder it felt like fire, hot burning throughout my body. I let out a cry of pain. Before, I could do anything its claws grab my other shoulder and lift me. I tried to grab a firm hold of Chase's fur pulling him closer. But, his fur just slips through my fingers. I feel myself be taken higher and higher. The Hordri's claws just dug deeper into my shoulders. I look down and see Chase in a full fight with the black wolf and Damion being chased by another Hordri. I was going to die today. I close my eyes and wait. Feeling the stabbing pain in my shoulders, I hold on to the Hordri's legs. Colours swirl around me, voices, yelps and then silence.
