- No ones POV -
Seungmin huffed as he tightened the knot of his apron, listening to the loud chatter of the customers. He was already annoyed as one of his coworkers, Hyunjin, was late. He worked at a small milkshake shop just a few minutes away from his apartment, the job paid just enough for him to pay his rent and have food. Seungmin took one last look in the mirror of the changing room and stepped out to the counter and the cash register. Immediately after he started preparing what he needed for his shift, the massive line from the cash register next to him split up and he had about 10 people in line. Sighing quietly he put on a nice and friendly smile before starting to serve the customers.
After a rough 4 hours, the customers started to become less and less, allowing Seungmin to take a small break. By "break" Seungmin meant making himself a milkshake and sipping on it occasionally. Seungmin let out a disapproving sigh as Hyunjin entered the shop panting. "Hyunjin. Where the hell have you been?" The brunette asked. Hyunjin looked at him sheepishly "I... I may have overslept?" He said while holding his hands up defensively. Seungmin rolled his eyes and walked back to his cash register. "Just get to work" He mumbled, sipping from his strawberry milkshake.
Hyunjin frowned softly at Seungmins mumbled words and quickly went to put on his apron. He walked up to him and put his arm around Seungmins shoulder, pulling him closer. "I'm sorry, don't be grumpy now~~" He said in a whiny tone. Seungmin sighed, shaking him off of him "Just don't ever be late again, it was hell" He said sternly. Hyunjin backed off, holding his arms up in a defensive manner. "No need to act all Grumpy, puppy" He winked. Seungmin rolled his eyes and turned around to hide the soft blush creeping onto his cheeks. Not long after a group of loud teenagers walked in to order.
Seungmin sighed softly and tried to listen to the teenagers' chaotic order. They kept talking over each other and the brunette struggled to listen properly. After he finally got their order he came to the annoying realisation that the strawberry syrup was empty. "Ah, I'll grab the caramel syrup from the back, give me a few seconds." Seungmin walked away from the counter and to the back of the store to grab the mentioned syrup.
"Ah, are you kidding me...?" Seungmin groaned quietly. the bottle was standing at the far back of the shelf. The man was already standing on his tip-toes and still couldn't reach the bottle. He continued to struggle for a bit before Hyunjin tapped his shoulder.
"Having some trouble there, sugar?" Hyunjin asked in his usual cocky tone. Seungmins eyebrows furrowed, looking annoyed though he couldn't hide the small smile on his lips. "N-No?" He protested. "Oh, of course you don't." Hyunjin chuckled, he glanced at the bottle of strawberry syrup at the far back of the shelf, barely visible. "Well, if you don't have any trouble, why don't you get the bottle yourself?" Hyunjin asked. Seungmin frowned subtly but was determined to grab the bottle himself. He got on his tip-toes and with all of his might and willpower reached for the bottle, but despite his efforts only his fingertips lightly grazed the bottle. Seungmin groaned, crossing his arms to which Hyunjin laughed softly reaching for the bottle himself and handing it to Seungmin. "Here ya go, you adorable little thing." He said amused, walking back to the cash register. "I could've done it myself, Yknow..." Seungmin murmured under his breath. Defeated, Seungmin walked back to the front of the shop and started making the orders.
At the end of the day, the two started closing the shop. They mopped the floors, wiped the tables and counters, closed the windows and locked the door. Then they walked to their storage to count their remaining goods. Hyunjin leaned against the doorframe, watching Seungmin put away some boxes. "A little help would be nice" Seungmin said rather annoyed.
Hyunjin pushed himself off the doorframe and approached Seungmin and ruffled his hair. "You're always so grumpy, try loosing it up a little." He said softly. "I'll be on time tomorrow, I promise." Hyunjin winked. Seungmin rolled his eyes seeming annoyed despite the soft blush on his cheeks. "You better hold yourself to that promise" He lightheartedly threatened.
