Walking around the house, you looked for Salem. You had a bowl filled with food in your hand. You shook it while you walked, and finally, you stopped at Pieck's bedroom door. Opening it slowly, you found Salem lying there. When she saw you walk in, she hopped down from the bed and followed you to the kitchen so she could eat. Opening the refrigerator, you went to look for food only to see almost nothing.

"Jeez, does she not go shopping.. or does she just not eat."

You grabbed the jelly out of the refrigerator and some peanut butter in the pantry. You made yourself a sandwich and grabbed a bag of chips as well. Setting your plate on the island, you leaned against it while eating. Once you were finished, you cleaned everything up and looked for the remote to the TV in the living room.

You grabbed a blanket and snuggled into it. You felt small paws walk up your body before weight was felt on your hip. You reached your hand out to pet Salem, hearing her purr loudly. You stayed like that until you ended up falling asleep. When you awoke, it was to the alarm set on your phone to wake you up for school. Sitting up and stretching, you pet Salem, who was now lying by your feet.

The next few days, you spent your time looking around the house. You even bought groceries for her. You struggled to contain yourself from looking into the room Pieck told you not to go in. Every time you passed by, you felt an ache in your stomach. Put alas, you never went in.

You began to get ready and fed Salem before leaving. Walking into class, you sat by Ymir and Historia.

"Where's Pieck?"

"Yeah, where's pale skin?"

"She's not that pale, Ymir. She had somewhere to be, I don't know where she went and I don't know when she'll be back."

You started zoning out once class started, thinking about where Pieck could've gone to. You felt kinda lonely without her. You were snapped out of your thoughts when a hand slapped onto your desk.

"Let's go meat head, class ended."

"Oh, my bad. I'm not feeling well today, I think I'm gonna go home. I'll see you and Historia tomorrow."

"Alright, get some rest loser."

"Feel better soon, Y/n!"

You waved goodbye to Ymir and Historia, beginning your walk back to Pieck's house. When you finally arrived, you headed up the stairs and layed down in one of the guest bedrooms. Salem soon followed and jumped onto the bed with you, curling up close to your chest. You pet her until you eventually fell into a deep sleep.

Waking up, you were met with complete darkness. A purring sound startled you before you felt around for the furry animal near your head. You searched for your phone, and once you found it, you turned on the screen. The bright light hurt your eyes, and you made an audible 'ach' sound. Turning the brightness down and turning the flashlight on, you got out of bed and went downstairs.

Halfway down, you heard noises coming from the kitchen. You froze in place, thinking of what you should do. In the end, you just turned the flashlight off and raised your hands, ready to fight. Peeping your head around the corner, you saw long dark hair and a black cloak that barely hovered over the ground.

"Pieck?"

She suddenly whipped her head around, seeming startled only for a second before having a calm look on her face.

"So you are here. I called your name when I walked in, but there was no answer."

"I was asleep, sorry.."

"I see. Salem, my beauty. Oh, how I've missed you, my feline friend."

"Ahem, what about me? I missed you too, you know.."

She looked at you, searching your face for what seemed like a lifetime before she made her way over to you. Hesitantly, she wrapped her arms around you. Immediately, you hugged her back, a bit more enthusiastic. You smiled up at her, and to your surprise, she showed a slightly more toothy grin than usual.

"Hugging me? What happened to you while you were away?"

You giggled, earning a frown from her. She stepped away from you and took her cloak and trench coat off. Underneath, she was wearing a nice-fitting turtle neck and work pants. You bit your lip as you practically stared at her.

"Keep staring, and you'll probably burn holes through my clothes."

"I wasn't staring - just..zoning out."

"Right. Are you hungry? I can make something."

"Oh, um sure! Let me help you!"

"If I wanted you to help, I would've said so. However, I said that I could make something. Not you."

She turned away on her heel and began to take pots and pans out. You awkwardly sat on the couch. She never let you help. After a bit of waiting, she brought out two bowls of homemade ravioli. You thanked her, and the two of you dug in.

"I'm exhausted, so I'll be going to bed. Goodnight."

"Oh, goodnight! I should head to bed as well."

You parted ways upstairs and went to your rooms. You heard the cries of Salem as she was confused about who she should sleep with. Walking out, you saw Pieck peeking her head out of her room.

"Salem, come now. Oh... unless you would like to have her for the night?"

"No, it's fine, she's your cat."

"And I live with her, you don't. I sleep with her all the time, just go ahead and take her."

"Pieck, she's your cat -"

You both turned your attention to Salem, who had cried out. Looking at each other, you saw her think for a moment before she spoke up.

"Perhaps you would like to sleep with me tonight, so she can sleep with the both of us?"

"Oh, sure! I'll be on my phone for a bit, though."

"That's fine as long as the sound is off and the brightness is down."

"Of course!"

And with that, the two of you went to bed. Staying on one another's side. You watched videos on your phone until you heard Pieck snoring. Before going to bed, you decided to do a little more research on the long-living woman.

You took a look at different articles, reading each one thoroughly. Whilst reading one, you found new information. The article talked about exactly what she looked like. It was an older article from 1978.

'Hair as dark as a raven's feather, skin paler than the moon itself, giving her a sickly look. Eyes as red as an apple yet as grey as a stormy day.'

'The way she dresses, it's as if she lives in the past. Ready for a formal ball, a smaller woman, nothing taller than maybe 5'2? Perhaps shorter.'

'She visits a clock store almost every day, walking in just before she does, I've found that the workers call her 'Miss Finger."

What? Miss Finger? Suddenly, it was as if something clicked inside your head. All the descriptions matched Pieck. The last name is 'Finger'. That was Pieck's last name.

You suddenly felt a pair of arms wrap around your waist, pulling you closer to her. You felt Pieck rub her face against your back.

Was she really the woman you had done so much research over? You didn't want to believe it, so for the next few days, you decided to test her and see if she truly was a vampire.
