It was clear that Yoona was totally shocked by what happened when we touched. After the first time you touched your soulmate you could always feel an undercurrent of their emotions in the background. It was subtle, but if you paid attention, you could always find it. But when you were touching, that was totally different. Everything came to the front. You could fully feel all of their emotions and they could feel yours. I was used to the intense emotions that came with touching my soulmates, but it was clear that this was new for Yoona.

"Yoona," Namjoon was speaking carefully, like he was trying to avoid spooking her, "I'm pretty confident you are our soulmate. We have the same mark, and when you touched Jimin you felt each other's emotions. I don't want to overwhelm you, but that is exactly what a soulmate should experience."

"I...I'm not sure I know what you mean. Again, I have a soulmate already. I really think you should go now."

With one look at Namjoon it was clear we were both thinking the same thing. There was no way we were leaving our new soulmate, particularly after we'd just met her.

I went to grab her hand again, but she pulled back. Instead I gave a gentle smile to reassure her. "Yoona, can I ask how you met your soulmate? I'm just curious. Did you meet him through the registry?" I could tell through our bond that her emotions were running high. She was scared, confused, and anxious. I didn't want to do anything that might make that more acute.

"We grew up together as children of course, just like most soulmates."

While I'd been wondering earlier if maybe there was just a mistake, now I knew something was definitely off. It was incredibly rare for individuals to know their soulmate before they met through the registry. Like one in a million rare. That was why they created the registry in the first place and required individuals to submit their soulmarks. If they didn't have the database people would never find each other. The seven of us found each other through the registry exactly in order of age. And each time a new individual popped up in the registry it was obvious that they would join our soul group, that's just how things worked.

Jimin could see Namjoon's mind was racing just as fast as his. It was a serious crime to trick someone into believing they were your soulmate. And if Yoona was their soulmate, she definitely couldn't be soulmates with someone else. The seven knew they were waiting for one more, and Yoona was clearly it.

Namjoon gave her a polite nod, "we'll be back in just a minute". Grabbing my hand we both walked out of the room. "I think we need to call the police."

From here things got a little crazy. The police showed up at the same time as Yoona's supposed soulmate. The man went to Yoona and grabbed her, telling everyone he was taking her home. But the police blocked his way asking to see his soulmark as proof.

Her so-called soulmate initially protested, eventually giving in under the condition that they do it in private since his mark was in a more personal area. I just stared at him in confusion, Yoona's was on her arm, how personal was it to show your arm that you needed privacy? But the police consented and brought him to a separate room. Eventually coming back they compared Yoona's mark with the angry looking man, and then with mine and Namjoon's.

It didn't take long for the police to confirm what we already knew, Yoona belonged with us. They offered the other man the opportunity to bring additional evidence to the police station, but until then they could not release Yoona back to him.

The man's face went from irritation to anger, storming out of the hospital in an expletive filled rage, throwing over carts of medical supplies in the process. In the meantime our new soulmate stared with wide eyes, further curling in on herself.

After the noise finally quieted down Namjoon awkwardly scratched his neck and turned back to Yoona. "Well Yoona, we should probably introduce ourselves. I'm Namjoon and this is Jimin. We are two of your seven new soulmates. I know this probably feels like a lot, but I think you should just come home with us tonight while we figure everything out, ok?"

Yoona still looked terrified, but slightly nodded her head. I don't think this is what anyone had envisioned for today.
