This timeline is in April of 2021. I know the timing might be messed up, my little Lightning Bolts, but don't worry. It is very specific to this story. Also, not all the characters or things that happened in this story are not in Empires SMP Season 1.

(Scott POV)

"We have trade business today, Scott," my father tells me at breakfast. He flips the page of his newspaper. "With Oceana. (Before it was divided.) And," he adds, looking at me seriously. "You may have a future marriage to strengthen the alliance if all goes well today."

Phantom Xornoth laughs, his purple hair falling in his eyes. When my brother disappeared a year ago, my dad assumed, like all the villagers, that he had turned to the dark side and followed Exor, the demon version of his twin brother Aeor. Aeor is worshiped here, but when he banished Exor, he was banished from the land. Before Xornoth was corrupted, he was just my *slightly* older twin brother. He and I looked alike, but I had teal hair and blue eyes, while he had purple hair and red eyes. He would tease me, but when he disappeared my dad pretended like he was never here. Now Xornoth shows up in my life, but only as a ghost.

I push away from the table. "Not hungry anymore." I mumble to my dad, then walk down the hall. My knee-high boots squeak as I tread softly. When I get to my room, covered in flags of Aeor, deer, and elf custom rules, I sigh, tears threatening to spill. I swallow hard, willing the tears away.

My dad can't know I've been crying, he always finds a way to turn my grief into a lesson about backing away from people. I shuffle through my closet, trying to find something to wear. I pull out a loose, puffy white shirt. I pull off my old shirt, then tug the white shirt over my head. The black pants I'm wearing will be okay. I fasten my teal cloak over my shirt. I pull my long hair away from my face, pinning it up.

Even if it wouldn't be who I wanted, at least maybe she would be nice. We could at least act in love, even if we weren't. I strapped on my elytra and opened the window. The cold wind blows in, untucking my hair and blowing it into my eyes again. I give a frustrated sigh, then hop out into the air. I float down to the bridge, my father already waiting for me. His blonde hair shines brightly against the snow coating the bridge and ground around it. I look to the mountains for a moment, the peaks far above us, the ground not much closer. As we begin to walk across the ravine to the river system, I look at my father's face.

Though he tries to hide it, I can see the lines of grief crossing his face, the laugh lines around his eyes almost gone. "Father?" I ask as our boots click against the cobblestone path through the village. "Will I have to marry soon?" "No, Scott," he chuckles for the first time in a while. "In 4 years, when you are 21." I nod at his words, but my mind is far from our conversation.

Bye, my lovely little Lightning Bolts! I'll be working on the next section, it'll be up soon!
