Hello my lovely Lightning Bolts! I know that the few people who made it this far think you're prepared for this. I'm telling you, you're not. Just.... no.
The Next Morning (Scott POV)
I wake up with a pounding headache. I sit up, my throat dry and my stomach empty. I'm in a strange place, with green blankets and dark walls. Oh no, I must have gotten drunk. I hope I didn't say anything (or do anything) bad.
There's a pair of black velvet pants, a teal silk shirt, and a dark blue cloak on the bed. A note sitting next to them says, "I talked to Wilbur, he wants us to go on a date." Not 'I want to' or 'Lets', but "Wilbur wants us to." I sigh and pull on the outfit.
When I walk out into the main hall, I find Jimmy in a similar green outfit. He wordlessly hands me my elytra and some rockets. I follow him onto the porch of the large building, and we take off into the crisp air. We land in a beautiful clearing right outside of Oceana. It's surrounded by flowers, completely secluded and cut off by trees.
But there's an opening to the sky right above us. It's all so beautiful. Which makes me feel even worse. "Wilbur picked a good spot, didn't he?" I say, not even trying to hide the emotion in my voice. At first Jimmy looks at me, confused, but then he responds.
"Actually, I picked it. I just thought you wouldn't come with me unless Wilbur or someone else said to." He pauses, looking at the flowers. He sits down in the middle with his back to me and starts picking some of them, twisting them into a long strand. His voice floats back to me. "Y-you don't remember anything from last night, do you?"
Oh gods, did I...? No, surely not. I wasn't that drunk. Or was I? "No," I say, fear settling in my stomach. Jimmy visibly relaxes, his body sinking further into the grass. "Then I do." "You do...what?" He stands up and takes a step towards me. I step back, farther away, until I hit a tree. "Last night you asked if I could keep a secret. To 'not even tell Jimmy.' Then you said, 'He's cute. Like, really cute. I just wish he liked me back.' So now I'm telling you I do like you back."
He places the flower crown of poppies on my head. Then he presses up against me, kissing me. My back is pushed up against the rough trunk of the tree, but I don't care. I kiss him back. He bites my lip softly and I pull him closer. And then the world explodes.
You see? Lady Lightning was right, as always. I'm sorry for the short chapter, but if this provoked a lot of emotion, you have not a clue of what the next chapter holds. Goodbye, my beautiful Bolts! Ly!
