L'Manburg is fucking cold at night, and somehow y/n didn't know this. We now find them shivering in the cold, with no coat to speak of, just trying to get to their Night Shift in a McDonalds. The weirdest people order at night and at even weirder times. They once had the villain nightshade come in asking for a 20 pack of nuggets at 4am.

Sure, they could shift into a pigeon or something but they like not having anyone knowing they are quite the powerful shapeshifter (or as they would call it 'a mimic') thank you very much. They would rather not get scouted out by some stuck up hero only working for rich fucks and asked to join the hero program. Nor would they like to be a villain, they think they actually are doing shit for the "greater good" but everyone knows that's bullshit. They are hot though.

When they finally get into work, they find it's just as dull as ever. Barely anyone but drunk uni students in the place and god did it stink of booze. They eventually got to one of the tills and as always, it was quite slow going. That was until their evening got interesting.

"Hello, can I have, hmm, a double cheeseburger and medium chips with a coffee with as much creamer as you are allowed to put in it." A tall masked man with a mechanical tinge to his voice asked. Siren. One of the most wanted villains in L'Manburg, ordering McDonalds at midnight.

"That'll be £7.50 please." They say tiredly, not really caring if they offend the man.

"Ok," he says, very clearly giving them more than necessary. As he walks away to wait for his food he calls over to them again "keep the change, anyone doing fast food night shifts deserves way more than they earn."

They smile at the little comment. Their shifts did kinda suck but after completing becoming nocturnal as a teen, they didn't have much of a choice.

Siren then grabs his food, very obviously fake drops another fiver on the counter and leaves. For a villain he's oddly charitable. And finally, after a millennia of waiting, they can leave.

What made all of this weirder was how they looked up to see Siren just casually sat on the roof of the McDonalds. Drinking his coffee like his life depended on it.

Upon noticing them staring he began to get down off the roof.

"You do know how unsafe this place is at night? Like actual creepy freaks out to do horrible things." He asks.

"Yeah, I've worked here a while, nothings happened so far so I'm taking my chances." Y/n replies. It's true, besides if anything were to happen they have quite the powerful power and could simply escape.

"I know I'm a villain but it feels wrong to just leave you to walk home alone, in the dark, on this side of town. May I watch over you?"

Yeah, sure I guess." They answer. And that became the tradition. Siren and Y/n walking home from the McDonalds every night, just chatting about whatever the fuck they want. Eventually this sort of friendship takes its first step.

Friend me :)

That was a good next step. They can actually chat outside of work. Although it is mostly just y/n sending random dumb stuff, for example:
