They Chose You

Third Person POV

(Y/N) laid in bed as the sun rose. She could see the sun roll in through her windows but that didn't make her budge. Today was the day. The day that she would get her final Pokémon. She had been up all night just thinking of the possibilities.

"I know it's one of the three starters, right?" She had questioned to Bianca the night before

"Yes. It's cause it's a gift from the professor, and since Cheren and I don't have our Pokémon yet that means that it's only starter choices." Bianca said firmly, like she was reciting from something her mother had said. It was something her mother had said. Multiple times.

"Ooh starter Pokémon are so strong! I can't wait!" (Y/N) said as she plopped back onto her bed. "Snivy, Oshawott, or Tepig..." She thought as she put a finger to her chin. "I'll have to pick whoever is most comfortable with me, I guess."

"It's always different with starter Pokémon." Bianca said, lying her head back on the bean bag in your room. "You don't choose them. They choose you."

"They choose me, huh?" (Y/N) had muttered to herself. And that is what she thought about as she laid in her bed that morning. Bianca had slept over, so (Y/N) could hear Bianca getting ready in her bathroom. She decided she would get up once Bianca got out of the bathroom.

Right after she thought that Bianca opened the door to the bathroom. (Y/N) groaned and turned back around. Bianca laughed and made her way over to (Y/N)'s bed.

"Wake up sleepy-head!" Bianca laughed, shaking the bed and (Y/N) along with it."We have to make it to Professor Juniper's office on time so we get our starters in the first place!"

(Y/N) grumbled under her bedsheets but soon enough sat up on her bed, "Fine. Give me a couple of minutes to get ready. Then we'll head out."

Second Person POV

After you had slumped out of your bed, you had gotten ready in record time to appease Bianca as she paced around your room expressing her worries.

"Bianca!" You finally yelled, getting her attention, "We'll be fine alright. Let's just get to Juniper's place and-" A knock on the door made you stop mid-sentence.

You reached for the doorknob to you room but then your mom screamed "I'll get it!"from downstairs.

After a couple of seconds and a bit of chatter from your mom. Cheren knocked on the door. You opened it to see him with a capsule of sorts in his hands.

"A little help?" He asked as he shifted the capsule's weight to his other arm. You nodded and lifted the capsule from his arms. You brought it over to your desk and put it down on top.

"What is that?" You asked, as Cheren got himself settled.

"Oh! Well you see I went over to Professor Juniper's lab early to see if she needed anything and she said since she was busy and she wasn't going to have the time for us to come over to her office that she wanted me to bring the capsule with the Pokémon over to your house." Cheren explained, taking a breath.

"The Pokémon are in there!" You said

Bianca stared at the capsule, flabbergasted. "So this is where my first ever Pokémon is?!" She yelled. She ran over to the capsule and looked at you and Cheren. "Well what are we waiting for! Let's open it!"

You walked up to the capsule and so did Cheren. You all were still with anticipation as Bianca pushed the button on the capsule. It revealed three Pokéballs. Instinct took you over as you grabbed all three Pokéballs and released the Pokémon inside them. Bianca watched in amusement as the three Pokémon looked around and then focused on the three trainers. The voices of the Pokémon filled your head

I like you, trainer! You heard a Pokémon say. You looked down to see a Snivy staring straight at you. Your heart quickened. Was this it? Had the Pokémon already chosen you?The Pokémon chirped and then ran into your arms straight away.

You giggled and bent down to be level with the Pokémon. It seemed like the Snivy had chosen you. "What's your name little one?" The Snivy looked up at you.

"My name is Kokori!" The Snivy said. You smiled at Kokori and placed your hand on his head. You looked up to see Bianca and Cheren holding their partner Pokémon as well.

Bianca had Oshawott and Cheren had Tepig. You smiled and held Kokori closer. Bianca was right. The Pokémon had chosen you guys. You stood up and looked at Bianca and Cheren.

"Well that was exciting, huh?" You asked

"Nerve-wracking more like it!" Bianca said, "At first I thought all of them were going to go to you, (Y/N)!" She smiled. You smiled back. You had realized that they were staring at you once they realized that you could hear their thoughts.

"We should have a battle!" Bianca said, "Right here, right now!" You and Cheren looked at each other and back at Bianca

"Are you crazy?!" You yelled, "I just finished cleaning my room!" You placed Kokori next to you. "We'll battle in Route One." You looked at them as they both smiled with their new Pokémon.

"I'll see you there!" You said as you walked out your door. Bianca and Cheren rushed out to follow you.

"We have to go to Juniper's lab first (Y/N)." Cheren bluntly stated. You shook your head.

"You two do. I already did when I moved here. I'm going to explore Route One again! See you guys there!" You grabbed your bag with all your Pokémon in them and headed over to route one. Head high and ready for adventure!
