I sat between my brother and Hyunjin, Jeongin was right in front of me. A waiter came and took our orders, writing them all down on his small notebook before going to the kitchen.

We all started to talk with each other, creating a lot of noise. We made so much noise that the other customers started looking at us with the most disappointing of looks.

Jeongin's POV

"I'll go to the bathroom, I'll be back in a second" I said to Chan hyung that was sitting beside me

When I was walking back to the table I saw two empty seats. They were Hyunjin and Y/n's.

"Where are they?" I asked my hyung pointing at the now empty chairs

"I think they are in outside in the garden, Hyunjin said he had to tell something important to Y/n" Chan replied

I nodded and thanked him. I walked fast headed to the garden. What was Hyunjin telling to Y/n? Please don't tell me that he's doing what I'm thinking.

As I got closer to the outside, I heard their voices become louder

"... there's something really important I need to tell you" Hyunin said "I like you Y/n, a lot. I liked you from the second we met at my birthday party. I loved the way you were so kind to give a complete stranger a gift even though they invited you just a couple of hours before. I'm just in awe everytime I see your smile and your eyes are the most beautiful thing I saw in my entire life"

He paused waiting for her to reply.

I can't believe it... he just fucking confessed to the girl I who love more than my own life. How could he confess? He knew that I liked her

"I really like you too Hyunj-" she stopped abruptly as she heard my heavy steps

I just stormed back to the table. I couldn't hear a word more, it was just too much for me, for my heart. I just got plainly rejected without a chance to say anything. At least she will be happy with him, right? I should be happy for them but I just can't... I can't stop myself from thinking that it could've been me, instead of Hyunjin, if only I had had more confidence. Fuck my shyness...

Y/n's POV

Jeongin got up and went to the bathroom leaving me at the table to talk with Hyunjin.

"Y/n?"

"Yeah?" I snapped out of my thoughts

"There's something really important I need to tell you. Can we please go outside?"

"Where are you two going?" Bang Chan asked us

"We're just going to get some fresh air" Hyunjin replied grabbing my hand and taking me outside

"I really like you too Hyunj-" I stopped as I heard some heavy footsteps come from inside not too far from us

He looked at me, impatiently waiting for my reply

"I really like you Hyunjin... but I consider you a really close friend, best friend even. I'm so sorry but I just can't see you as something more than a best friend... I like someone else..." I lowered my head feeling so bad for rejecting him

"It's Jeongin isn't it?" he scoffed sadly

I just nodded in silence. He suddenly hugged me

"It's okay... really, I'm fine. I knew it was going to end like this" he whispered in my ear

I tightened the hug.

"We both know you're not fine Hyunjin... and it's my fault. Just my fault"

"Don't worry. I'll be fine... Just tell Jeongin you like him, before you end up like me" he pulled away and wiped something from his cheeks

Is he... crying?

I hugged him again, almost squeezing him

"Don't cry Jinnie, I know you'll find someone better than me. I'm sure you'll be able to find someone that really loves you for the beautiful person you are"

He smiled a bit.

"I really hope I do. Now go get him, Captain" he said to me with a pat on my head

I smiled to him as I got back in searching for Jeongin.

I went to the table but he wasn't there.

"Hey Chan, did you see Jeongin? I can't find him" I asked

"He said he wasn't feeling well. He just left a couple of minutes ago"
