Secrets [Yang Jeongin x reader]

"W-what happened?" I asked worried

"I don't know, they didn't tell me. Come at the hospital as soon as I can, I'll wait for you outside"

With that he closed the call. I heard worry in his words so the situation was really serious.

"I-i need to go" I jumped up and went to the entrance to put my shoes on

"What happened?" They asked worried

"It's my mom, something happened to her" I replied quietly as I tied my shoelaces "My brother told me to go the hospital"

"I'll drive you to the hospital" Jeongin firmly stated as he quickly wore his shoes

I just nodded expressionless.

The two of us went out and got in his car. He started the engine and began driving to the hospital.

I just sat on the passenger seat while blankly staring at my feet. I wasn't feeling anything at that moment... no joy, sadness, nothing at all...

The trip to the hospital was made in total silence neither of us made a single noise.

When we got to the hospital, after Jeongin parked the car, we went to the entrance where my brother was waiting.

"Soobin!" I yelled as we got closer to him

"Hey Y/n, oh hi to you too Jeongin" he was quite surprised to see him "Let's ask for information inside"

We asked at the nurse behind the desk. She told us that our mom was already in a room and the doctors there would give us more information about what happened to her.

We went to the room the nurse told us, we sat on the chairs outside of the room waiting for the doctors to come out of mom's room.

I grabbed Jeongin's hand  and held it tight. He looked at me for a second and then began to softly caress the back of my hand to relax me.

About 15 minutes later, the doctors came out of the room

"Are you the patient's relatives?" The older doctor asked us

"We're her children and he's... a close friend?" Soobin replied to the doctor, unsure on how to define Jeongin

The doctors looked at each other and nodded "Your mother has been involved in a car accident. She was driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol which resulted in her crashing into a tree while going at a very high speed"

"She has sustained serious traumas and injuries but she seems to see somehow stable right now" the younger doctor continued "She's really weak right now, so we're going to keep her medically sedated. Even though she's alive right now, we need to warn you: if her organs begin to fail, we won't be able to do much to save her. We will obviously try our best to save your mother but her chances of survival are not that high right now. You won't be able to visit her today, she's too fragile right now. Try to go home and get a good sleep... I know it's hard but you should try, waiting here is pointless, you'll just end up sick"

That was a very hard thing to acknowledge all in one... this could be the last time I see her...

Ever since our dad died of cancer, when I was 4 and my brother was 7, our mom's personality started to change.
Before she was always really loving and caring, but after dad's death she became depressed... she started to use drugs and she became a totally different person. She would often beat us saying that his death was our fault.

We resisted for 10 years but when she broke both my brother's arms, I had to call the police, it was way too much for two teens to handle... the social services came to our house and took our mother away, they put me and my brother in our school's dorms and from that moment we never heard a thing from her.

Soobin and I tried to forget everything, we tried to be normal kids despite all we've been through.

My brother wanted to become an idol so that he could make music to help and comfort people, while I wanted to become a doctor to try my best and save as much people as I could, I didn't want anyone else to suffer what I suffered.

But in the end we both became idols, our feelings and love for music were too strong to repress.
Before he died, our dad used to be a musician and music itself ran in our family for generations.

My brother got closer to me and put an arm around my shoulders

"Let's go home" he ordered

We nodded and followed him. We got out the hospital and walked to the parking lot.

"Y/n, get inside the car. I need to exchange a few words with Jeongin" my brother said

Jeongin's POV

Y/n got inside leaving me outside with her brother.

"Listen, Jeongin. I don't know what you are for her and I respect your privacy but I saw you two are very close. I know she trusts you so I will trust you too. Please take good care of her and support her, she may not look like it but she needs it more than anything right now.
I will leave her in your hands now Jeongin." He said to me as he put his hand on my shoulder

"I care about her more than anything, I'll make sure to give her anything see needs" I replied

He gave me the slightest of the smiles and walked away to his car.

I sat on my seat and started the drive back home.

I already texted the guys to be extra careful with her and to give me some alone time with her.

We arrived home and went straight for my room. There was no sign of my friends, they probably sleeping right now.

"You can sleep on the bed, I'll sleep on the couch" I told her

I felt a tug on my sleeve

"Can you sleep with me please?" She asked while putting her head on my chest

I wrapped my hands around her waist and slowly walked to the bed.

She laid on it and I was beside her. She then hugged me tight... a few minutes later she was peacefully sleeping

I smiled a bit and caressed her head a few times before drifting to sleep myself.
