The day seemed to drag on and on. It was the same routine all day; seat customers. Take orders. Bring orders. Take cash. Done. Then repeat.

You were constantly checking the clock for 10:30PM. Boss wanted you to work late, so instead of you getting off of work early, you got off of work late. Which meant more time to work and less time to see Vincent after work. A sudden realization hit you - you promised Foxy you would visit him today on your break. Untill then, you could only wait for your group.

"Group One, you may take your break." You heard Boss say over the speaker. He gave all of the employees group numbers a few minutes ago. You were luckily in that group. You ran to the cove, in hopes of seeing the pirate there, but with no luck. You decided to talk to boss about it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Boss?" You asked, stepping into his office.
"Ah. Yes, Y/n?" He replied, his short hair swaying like branches in a storm, but stopping just as quickly. as his he swung his head up from his laptop, looking at you.
"Where's Foxy?" He looked surprised at such a question.
"Why would you be asking for that killer junk heap?" He shook his head and looked back at his computer.
"Sir, he isn't a killer junk heap. He's actually really kind. Where is he, boss?"
"Gone."
"W-What?"
"He's just in repair. Calm down."
  "Oh. Sorry to bother you, boss." You said quietly as you left the office. Now you had nothing to do for break. You headed to the employee lounge for lunch. You noticed Kay on the way there.
"Hey." You said quietly. "What happened to you?" Kay said, pointing to your cast.
"I just got locked in one time." You replied. "Not a big deal."
"Not a big deal, Y/N? Your arm is broken!"
"I'm fine. Really."
"Okay. Want to eat together?"
"Sure."
You both arrived at the lounge and sat down on the couch. Kay went to the vending machine and got both of you a drink. "So, how have you been, Y/N?"
"Good I guess."
"What's with the 'I guess'?"
"Nothing. It's nothing." You replied, shaking your head and looking down.
There was a pause.
"Hey, where's Vincent been?" she asked quickly.
"Hospital."
"What?"
"H-he was almost killed that night we got locked in... He looks terrible."
"Let's go see him on break. We do have an hour."
"If you want to, um, we can."
"Well, c'mon!" Kay jumped up and looked at you. "You comin?" She asked.
"Y-yeah." you said quietly, getting up from the sofa, and following Kay out the door.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Room 1174." The nurse replied, pointing you both in Vincent's Room's direction.

"Thank you ma'am." You said, and she nodded back at you. You looked at Kay and she smiled at you. You hadn't told her about the feelings you had with Vincent. You just hoped she didn't find out just yet.

You walked towards Vincent's room, followed by Kay. She was nervous to see Vincent. They never knew each other well, but they weren't the best of friends. They had a rocky history together. But that's beyond the point.

Vincent's room was just ahead. You felt your palms sweat as you neared his room. Kay must've noticed. "You nervous?" She asked.
"A little bit."
"Why, Y/N?"
"No reason. Let's just go."

Kay moved in front of you and went to Vincent's door. She looked at you. "Ready?" she asked.
"Ready as I'll ever be."
She opened the door and let you inside.

Vincent was laying on his side (the side without the arm cast), facing you. "Y\N... Home early?" He asked, his face lighting up as he saw you.
"Not exactly... I have an hour break."
"Oh." he said, looking down.
"I brought my friend here too." You said, while Kay walked though the door.
"Hey Vincent. How ya feeling?" She asked.
"Better." He said quietly.

There was a short silence. No sound, no motion. Just silence.

"Babe, can you get me a water from the vending machine? I have the money." He said pointing to his wallet on the table.
"Yeah, sure Vince." You grabbed a dollar from his wallet.
"Kay, you can come if y-you want." You said to her, on your way out the door. She followed you. The vending machine was right next to his room, so you didn't have to go far. You put the dollar in the machine.

"Babe? He said babe, right?" Kay asked In shock.
"Yeah he did. Why?"
"No Big deal. Just my best friends dating a hunk like that." She nudged your shoulder.
"We aren't even dating, Kay."
"Mmmmmmhm."
"I'm serious!" You started blushing. You both started laughing.

"But really, do you like him?" she asked
"Okay, yeah I do, but we aren't dating."
"Ok, I believe you."
You grabbed the water and brought it back to his room.

"Thanks babe." He said, setting his water on the side table.
"No problem." You replied.

"Y/N, it's time to go." Kay said, checking her watch.
"Ok. I'll be right out." She nodded and walked out.
"So soon?" Vincent said, looking up at you.
"I'm sorry. I have to go to back go work, Vince."
"Okay. Bye." He said quietly.
"I love you." You said, on your way out the door.
"Love you too." He said back.
You went out of your room and saw Kay waiting at the end of the hall. She winked at you, and you just laughed at her, and she laughed too.
