Million Dollar Man

Chapter 6

All I hear is ringing. My eyes take a minute to adjust to the sunlight coming into the room. I try to sit up but something wrapped around me is pulling me in. I look down to find me laying on Lalo. Again. His arm is wrapped around my back while mine is resting on his chest. Our legs tangled in with the sheets. I hear ringing again. I look over to see my phone ringing and buzzing against the dresser.

Lalo starts to move. I reach over to grab the phone before he wakes up. It was badger calling. I sigh and let it finish ringing. I wasn't really in the mood to deal with my ex boyfriend. The phone rings again. This time it's skinny Pete. I let out a groan before answering it. "Hey, can I call you later? I just woke up."

"Girl where have you been? We've been calling for days. Me, Badger, and Jesse even went out looking for you." He says.

I hear badger talking in the background. "Yo, Ask her why she answered you and not me?"

"Shut up man I got this." He whispered back. "Hey uh- are you mad at badger or something. If you want I can totally kick him out so you can still hang with me and Jesse."

"Yo what the fuck man!" Badger says.

I giggle. "No it's fine I'm not mad at you guys I just needed a break from everything."

I feel lalo move again. This time he's awake. "Who is it?" He whispers.

I put my finger up to my mouth to shush him and get back on the phone. "Can I call you later?"

"Nah man we just pulled up. Jesse's busy cooking right now but he said he'll catch up later."

"Now's not a great time. I'm... busy." I glanced over at Lalo. He has a smirk on his face. I roll my eyes. "I'll catch up with you later, ok?"

"Come on man, we're already here. We even got you a present. We're at the door. Let us in." He hung up. You've got to be kidding me.

I look back at Lalo. He's trying to read my face. "What?" He asked.

"You gotta hide." I tried to get up but his arm was still around me. He pulled me in closer. "Lalo im serious! They're right outside. You can't be here."

"Are you trying to keep us a secret?" He joked. They started knocking on the door.

"There is no us. Now let go." I said while pushing him away. He finally let go and I jumped out of bed. "Just a Minute!" I yelled. I turned around to see Lalo still in bed with his hand behind his head and a smile on his face. He wasn't gonna move. I pointed my finger at him and stirnly said, "Stay here." I closed the bedroom door behind me.

I ran to the front door and opened it. "Hey guys!"

Skinny Pete picked me up and spinned me around. "Y/n! We missed you girl."

"Look what we got!" Badger chirped in. He was holding a bag of weed.

"Thanks guys! I missed you too. Lemme get dressed quick and we can get out here." I walked to my bedroom and closed the door behind me. I looked at the bed and frowned. He was gone. There was a note sitting on the bed where he once was. I picked it up and read it.

"I'm sorry I had to leave so soon mi amor. I have some business I need to take care of. I'll see you later.
Lalo"

I smile and set the note on the dresser. I get ready and go back to the living room to see the boys. They were rolling joints. "Ready?" I asked.

"Finally. Girls take forever to get ready." Badger said while rolling his eyes.

"Man, shut up. I once saw you take a half hour trying on different outfits in the mirror." Skinny Pete said. We both started laughing.
