'How'd we get here?' Trina thought, genuinely curious about how their relationship escalated so fast. From being strangers to friends, friends into lovers, then strangers again after she broke off their friendship. She never expected to be in the current position she's in now.

She glistened in sweat beneath the man she always loved as he made love to her into midnight.

She smiled softly as their eyes met; she traced his structured face before he leaned forward to capture her lips again. She giggled softly as he trailed down to her neck before moaning out his name in a small voice. "Spencer.." He bruised her melanin skin, marking her as his.

PAUSE ⏸️
Let's pull back for a moment.

Port Charles, NYC
Kelly's Diner

Trina and Josslyn entered Kelly's for dinner after their final late-night class at PCU. They greeted Cameron as he handed over his shift to another employee. "Hey ladies" He smiled softly at the duo, hugging them tightly.

He walked back to the kitchen and appeared once again with their meals. "here you go." He set the plates on a table for them all as they all began to catch up with each other's lives. "When last have you heard from Spencer?" Josslyn asked Cameron, who glanced at Trina. "Today, he popped in, and we spoke." Josslyn nodded and noticed Trina distracting herself with her cell phone.

Josslyn changed the conversation as she noticed the tension in the air at the mention of his name.

"So.." Josslyn began but stopped herself as she noticed a couple entered the restaurant. "You can't be serious," Trina mumbled as they all spotted Spencer being dragged into the restaurant by his girlfriend, Esme Prince.

"Spence! Look!" they heard Esme's voice across the room as she noticed them. "Esme we should-" "Let's say hi." She approached the table and greeted the trio, who accepted her exaggerated happiness with a pinch of salt.

"Sorry if we're intruding." She continued as Spencer observed his friends enjoying each other's company without him.

He swallowed hard and rocked on his heel before looking away. "we just came in to pick up some takeout; we're having an indoor date night." Josslyn's eyebrows furrowed at the female, wondering if she did not recognize the uncomfortable and unwelcoming silence or ignored it.

Simultaneously, Trina's eyes unintentionally caught Spencer's; they stared at one another for a moment before she broke the contact.

His spirit faltered at her distance; the separation between them killed him despite his outside stature portraying a stoic individual.

"Esme, come on, we don't want to waste our night do we?" He voiced with a realistic fake smile. They bid goodbye to the trio, picked up their food, and left the restaurant.

"Are you okay?" Josslyn asked Trina, who covered her plate; her appetite was gone. "yeah, I'm just ready to head home." Cam and Joss looked at each other before standing up.

-

"Trin, you know you can talk to me," Joss whispered to Trina, who shook her head. "I'm fine, joss; see you later." They hugged before Trina entered her home. She placed her leftovers in the refrigerator and entered her room.

As she looked for pajamas, she realized how quiet her home was since her mom and stepfather were at work, doing their average graveyard shifts. She ran a hot shower and stood underneath it; the water beads pelted her skin, hitting away at her various emotions.

The artificial rainfall merged with the tears that fell down her face. Her heart feels heavy as the vision of Spencer and Esme clouded her mind; the thoughts aren't intentional--they never are, but how can she not imagine what pleasure he receives from the female he chose over her.
