YOUNG DIANA rubbed her eyes as she walked into her room, the sound of her father yelling on the phone was heard from downstairs.Diana walked over to her bed and grabbed the cover when a gust of wind blew from her window. She rubbed her arms as she walked over to the window. As she went to shut it, she saw a boy creep out of his back door from the house next door.
Diana watched curiously as the black haired boy with glasses walked over to his garage door. He opened it as he looked around before entering and closing the door.
Over the next few nights, Diana watched as the boy would leave his house and go to his garage. Flashes of light and sounds of tools wiring traveling into her window. She was intrigued by what the boy must be working on. Her imagination running wild with the possibilities. The girl was known for her wide imagination and way of thinking. She was very smart, as her teachers have told her.
Diana had soon realized that she recognized the boy from her class. She had never spoken to him or figured out his name, since they both kept to themselves.
About a week after Diana's first night watching the boy, she worked up the courage to introduce herself.
Diana bit on the inside of her lip as she watched the boy look around as he left his back door steps.
"Hi." Diana called quietly. The boy gasped with a jump as his head whipped up at her.
"Uh. Hi?" The boy quizzed as he looked up at the girl's window.
"I'm Diana." The young girl said with a nervous smile.
"Reed."
"What are you doing in there?" The girl asked as she gestured to the garage.
"Oh, um..." Reed trailed as he looked at the garage before looking back at Diana. "You want to come look?" He asked. Diana perked up, a growing smile on her face.
"Yeah, sure! I'll be down in a minute." Diana replied giddily. She quickly grabbed a sweatshirt from her closet before rushing downstairs. She stopped at the sound of her yelling father. She looked over to the living room and saw her father arguing with someone over the phone. She bit on the inside of her lip before grabbing her shoes. She stumbled as she slipped them on before heading outside.
Reed stood in the same spot he was in when Diana was at her window. He looked around awkwardly as adjusted his glasses.
To say he was nervous about showing the girl what he was working on was an understatement. He recognized the young girl from his class, the girl he would always find himself fixated on.
