the grim circus

the start of a friend ship?

As the lights flashed through the circus during the night fall there was still one performer who was practicing alone in the darkest spot. Yet they were the one that the circus was named after,   "grim!"   Called one of the other performers. Grim had taken one look at the preformer before letting go of the ropes dropping down quickly. The rope had caught their fall before they had hit the ground, they looked at the preformer it was the newest one although grim didn't have their name they tilted their head.   "That was amazing! I'm alastair!"   Spoke alastair as they held their hand out, grim had reached their own hand out shaking alastairs.   "Say you don't talk much do you?"   Alastair asked. Which to their surprise grim shaked their head and instead used sign language,   {im mute}   grim signed and Alastair nodded with a warm smile.   "Don't worry I won't judge you for it"   Alastair spoke gently out of their seemingly normal deep voice, grim had nodded in reply and started to climb their way back up the rope. Alastair watched as grims dark blue curly hair moved with any slight breeze whilst their black and gold outfit matched perfectly to him with the one white and one blue rope.   "Say what pronouns do you use? Just so I don't end up misgendering you"   Alastair asked as grim looked down at their emerald green eyes. Alastair looked back at him and realized that grim had one eye black and the other gray,   {they, them, it}   grim signed down to the dirty blonde who was wearing a deep green jumper and some baggy gray pants. Alastair simply smiled and leaned against the wall watching them continue to practice which didn't seem to bother grim at all. Once it was time to head to bed grim simply made a hammock leaving extra rope so they could get up and down easier if they needed anything which surprised Alastair,   "hey do you know where I'm supposed to sleep?"   Alastair asked and grim shrugged.   {Most new comers just pick a preformer to share with until they get their own spot}   grim signed before climbing down,   "could I share with you?"   Alastair questioned and grim shrugged and nodded which made Alastair smile. Grim pointed towards hanging net bed which alastair went to and layed down in, slowly drifting off into slumber.
