(Zoey POV)

Once I found out Tori was being released, I didn't know what to feel. Excited? Scared? I mean, she has been my best friend for about 5 years. But then she got sent to an insane asylum. I remember it all from the start. From the day she murdered her Aunt. From the police sirens. The funeral. All of it.

~Flashback~

I was 10. My long blonde hair flew down my back. Tori was inside doing something, while I was waiting outside for her. I heard a muffled scream from inside.

I ran inside.

"Tori?" I screamed. No response. I then ran upstairs, scared. I went into Tori's room. I look around, slowly. If she isn't in here she must be in her parents room.

I hear another scream along with gasping.

"Tori!" I scream. I run into her parents bedroom. I try opening the bathroom that is attached to her parents bedroom, but it's locked. I pound on the door.

"Tori!" I yell. The door unlocks and opens. I see Tori standing there with a knife, covered in blood.

I look in the tub and see a pool of blood. I look back at Tori, with a scared expression. Her eyes say nothing. She stands there, in shock.

I walk slowly to the tub. I look down and see Aunt Sophie, with stab wounds.

I gasp, "Tori...What have you done?" I say. Tori doesn't say anything. I run and grab the phone and dial 911.

~End of flashback~

"Zoe? You there?" My current best friend, Hailey, asks.

"Yeah..Just remembering something.." I say. Hailey nods.

Everyone knows about Tori and I. Our past, our friendship. Everything. Tori and I met at the park. Our mothers set up a play date for us at the age of 5. We instantly clicked. We we're the impossible duo. But Tori just...went crazy...

I sigh and shake my head. Hailey pulls into the school parking lot. I grab my bag and get out, Hailey does the same thing.

All around are news reporters. Tori comes back today. I honestly don't know what to do. Should I befriend her? Or should I not?

"Zoe. Don't worry about today. You'll be fine, okay?" Hailey reassures me. I nod and keep walking.

"Zoey! Zoey! How do you feel about Tori coming back!?" A reporter asks. I don't answer and keep my head down. I walk into the school with Hailey beside me. My father told me to don't answer the questions. I wouldn't want to anyway.

My mother died in a car accident when I was 14. At that age I was alone. No one was there but my dad. My dad works in the military. I don't see him very often but he checks up on me. He goes out on in a month.

I reach my locker. I open my locker and grab my things for first, second, and third period.

Two police officers walk in. Behind them is Tori. Everyone moves out of the way and stops talking. People start whispering, "Let's just hope she doesn't kill us." I hear.

Tori doesn't seem phased by it.

"I wonder how Zoey feels." I hear someone whisper. All heads turn to me. When Tori hears my name she looks up. Her eyes trail to me.

A lump forms in my throat. I stand, frozen.

Tori shakes her head and walks to the principals office.
