Fifth year.

Sighing to yourself you get up, away from the warmth of your bed and make your way to the bathroom.
You stepped into the shower and began washing yourself.

Today you are to return to hogwarts for your fifth year.

'Maybe it won't be such a bad thing' you thought to yourself running a hand over the bruise on your left arm.

You finish showering and get changed into your uniform.

You curled your hair and did your makeup.

After checking yourself in the mirror, you headed downstairs for breakfast.

"Look who's finally awake." Your dad scoffed as he walked up to you.

You frown slightly at the sight of him.
"What?"

"You have to be on the train in 30 minutes." He responded patting your shoulder from behind you.

You flinched slightly when he touched another bruise that was on your shoulder.

You sighed finishing your breakfast and standing up.

"Are you not going to say bye?" You asked genuinely disappointed.

You furrowed your eyebrows when he chuckled to himself  and walked off.

Grabbing your bags you apparated to the train station.
There before you was the Hogwarts express.

You made your way onto the train and searched for your friends in a compartment.

You finally recognised a familiar face. Maddie hall. Your bestfreind since year 2.

She noticed you and smiled excited.

You opened the door to the compartment and noticed Blaise, Draco, and Pansy was there aswell.

"Hey y/n!" Maddie said standing up and pulling you into a hug.
You returned it and put your bags to the side before sitting next to her.

"How have you been?" Blaise spoke up.

"Good thanks...you?" You smile at him.

"Good."

"Did you hear the news?" Draco said looking at everyone in the compartment.

"No? What is it?" Pansy said running a hand through her hair.

"Mattheo riddle is joining hogwarts this year." Draco spoke once again.

"Riddle?" You said messing with your robe.

"Yes. Riddle." Draco repeated.

As everyone changed the subject and kept talking you tried to shrug off the fact that a riddle was joining the school.
'He can't be like his father can he?' You thought to yourself.

"Y/n?" You snap out your thoughts when you feel someone shake you.
You look and realise it was blaise.

"We're here." He says.

You furrowed your eyebrows slightly.
You must have been thinking for a long time.

"Right. Sorry.." you reply standing up and grabbing your bags.

You all get to hogwarts and you put your bags in your dorm room that you shared with Pansy and maddie.

The three of you make your way down to the great hall and sit next to eachother. A few minutes later the boys join you.

"Silence!" Dumbledore yells and soon enough the room goes silent.

"Welcome back to hogwarts! Before we sort our new first years into their houses, we have a new student joining us."

You look at your friend group knowingly and they all smile slightly nervous. You didn't really feel nervous about the whole situation. You had a feeling he wouldn't be anything like his father. But there was always a chance.

"Please welcome mattheo riddle!" Dumbledore yelled once again and the doors of the great hall were pushed open.

A guy walked in. He looked pretty tall  around 5'11, with short curly dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. He had a few small scars on his face and he had a rather big one on the bridge of his nose.

You watched as he walked up to the sorting hat. The hat barely touched his hair before it shouted "SLYTHERIN!"

The slytherin table arrupted in applause and you noticed how he smirked and sat a few seats away from you.

The sorting hat began sorting the first years into the four houses.

You were quietly whispering to Pansy and maddie when you felt eyes on you.

You turn your head and see the boy who was called 'mattheo' staring at you.

You couldn't read the expression on his face. He was mostly glaring at you but he also had a bit of a smirk plastered on his lips.

You feel your cheeks turn warm so you quickly look away and brush it off before taking to maddie and Pansy  again.

Suddenly Dumbledore spoke up again
"You may spend the day without lessons. They will resume tommorow!"

You heard a few happy cheers and people started to leave the great hall.

"So what should we do today?" You asked your friend group that was still seated.

"Hang out in the common room?" Blaise asked stretching slightly.

Everyone agreed and you all made your way to the common room.

That's the end of this chapter!
It's not very long but they will get longer!
