Hanging out.

Your sitting on one of the common room couches next to Draco and maddie whilst pansy and Blaise sat on the other couch opposite you.

You see mattheo walk in the common room with around 3 other guys that were slytherins. Possibly his friends.

You watch as he walks past the couch.

Maddie noticed this and turned to you.

"What's going on?" She asked gaining the others attention.

"What are you talking about?" You asked furrowing your brows.

"Is something going on between you and riddle?" She said winking at you jokingly.

"No! Ew. We just got here." You replied making a discusted face.

You look back up at mattheo and saw that he had sat on the steps in the common room which wasn't that far away from you. You noticed he was looking at you with a smirk plastered on his face. Could he..hear you?

"Whatever you say.." Pansy says smirking at you.

You roll your eyes and cross your arms.

"Anyway..." Draco said trying to change the subject. "What classes do you guys have tomorrow?"

"I have defence against the dark arts first" blaise spoke up.

"Me too. With professor umbridge" maddie said sighing.

"Umbitch" you muttered under your breath before hearing a few giggles around you.

"You have her too?" Draco asked smirking at your comment.

"Yep." You replied leaning back on the couch.

Time skip: few hours

"I'm kinda tired" Draco suddenly spoke.

"Same I think I'm gonna go to bed." Blaise said standing up.

You said bye to them and you,Pansy and maddie decided to go to your dorm room.

"Are you sure nothings going on between mattheo and you?" Maddie asked once again, wiggling her eyebrows at you.

"No." You said rolling your eyes.

"Yeah. Well the look you gave each other earlier in the great hall tells me something different." Pansy says flopping onto her bed.

You felt your cheeks heat up.
"No I-"

"Goodnight y/nnnnn" maddie and Pansy said at the same.

You close your eyes and try to fall asleep. You sat up when you realised you couldn't.

"Maddie! Pansy!" You whisper-shouted.

No response.

Checking the time, you notice it's 11pm.

You leave your dorm room and decide that you want to go to the astronomy tower.

You walk out the slytherin common room and begin walking in the halls.

You finally reach the top step to the astronomy tower and look out at the night sky.

The astronomy tower is probably your favourite part of hogwarts.

Smiling to yourself, you make your way up to the railing and lean forward on it slightly.

You close your eyes and take a deep breath.

That is when you got interrupted as you felt that someone was behind you.

You spin round to be met with the one and only mattheo riddle.

You didn't pay attention to how close he was to you. You shook your head before speaking up.
"Are you following me?"

"Why would I be following you?" He replies walking away from you and pulling a cigarette out his pocket.

"I don't know...because you happened to come up here at the same time as me?" You said watching as he lit the cigarette with a lighter and brought it to his lips.

"No....i wasn't following you." He said before inhaling the smoke and blowing it back out.

"Why are you up here anyway? it's late." He continued, leaning against the railing.

"I could ask you the same thing." You replied.

"Couldn't sleep. What's your excuse?" He sighed turning his back to you.

"Same. Couldn't sleep." You shrug to yourself.

"I never got your name." He said turning to face you.

"Y/n....y/n Emerson." You reply looking back into the night sky.

"Mattheo riddle." He responds walking up to you. He stops next to you and leans on the same barrier as you.

It goes silent as he inhales more smoke, before exhaling again.

You couldn't help yourself as you found yourself daydreaming, looking up at him.

It wasn't long before he noticed you staring.
"Got a staring problem Emerson?" He says smirking slightly.

"You wish riddle." Is all you say as you look away from him embarrased.

You hear him chuckle.
"How often do you come up here?"

"Well we've just got here but in the past years Ive come up here a lot. Just helps me calm down and relax. I normally come up here..." you trail off as you realise you were talking to much.

Mattheo looks down at you with furrowed brows when you stop talking.
"You okay?"

"Yeah." You reply.
"I should probably get going." You say trying to avoid this conversation getting anymore awkward than it already is.

Mattheo smiles slightly, looking down at you.

You begin walking away but notice that his eyes keep following you.

"Got a staring problem riddle?" You say mocking him.

"You wish Emerson." He returns smirking slightly at you.

You walk back to the slytherin common room and disappear into your dorm.
You smile to yourself as you shut your eyes. Something tells you your gonna have fun this year...
