—Willow's heart pounded loudly in her ears, her mind foggy and confused.
Had they really done it?
Had she really won?
She gripped Melissa's hand tightly, feeling James' scowl on her from the other table.
"We did it," Melissa said quietly. "You're okay, you're safe, you're cleared. It wasn't you. Your mom has justice."
Willow nodded slowly, the words going in one ear and out the other. Her body was dizzy, surely she'd pass out soon.
She was pulled up, helped away from the table. She could hear James' voice, but she couldn't make out his words. She blinked as they left the courtroom, hand still tightly wrapped around Melissa's.
She was afraid to let go. If she let go, it made everything real. It made her mom's murder real.
The Jury stated he'd been trying to kill her, Willow, but framed the entire thing as an accident.
The text messages had all been him. Michael's assault had all been him.
It was all James. It was him trying to control her, to end her career, her life.
But why?
She couldn't figure it out, couldn't wrap her head around it.
She remembered Pedro speaking on the stand, testifying her trust issues, her fear, James' manipulations. She remembered Robert speaking on her behalf, telling stories of their youth, with how close she and her mom were.
And how isolated she became when James was in her life. How he'd manipulate her into falling back with him.
She remembered James shouting in the middle of the verdict, and she remembered crying. Why was she crying?
"Mi amor, here."
Willow's hand left Melissa's and she was passed off to someone else. Someone warm. She inhaled deeply, shakily, the comforting scent overwhelming her.
Bergamot and cedar wood. Pedro. She was okay, she'd be fine.
She sank into him, his arms wrapped around her tightly. She sobbed into his chest, sound snapping back around her like a rubber band.
People were chatting, low-tone voices in the courthouse. She could hear Frank laughing with Melissa — she thought they would be cute together, she was the only person who seemed to enjoy his dirty jokes — and feel Pedro's hand running up and down her back.
"Shh," he whispered in her ear. "It's okay, corazón, I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere. You're safe. It's over. You won. You did good."
She nodded, trying to breath in air but her lungs felt tight, stiff and suffocated. She pulled back, eyes wide. He grabbed her face gently on either side, his thumb resting on her chin.
"It's okay, princesa," he said quietly. "Take a breath with me," he took a deep breath, nodding for her to the same. She did as told, holding it until they breathed out together. "Good girl," he breathed out, leaning forward and pressing a kiss to her head.
"Let's go home, okay?"
Willow nodded, breathing him in again. But she knew she didn't need to go anywhere to be home. Being with him, breathing him in, feeling his hands on her skin...the serenity that followed every word, the gentle demeanor and soft kisses.
She was already home.

WILLOW SANDLER: CLEARED OF ALL CHARGES
By: Gretchen ReinstwornNepotism baby and television actress, Adam Sandler's daughter has faced countless threats and hate messages this year.
Following her mother's death, she was accused of being under the influence and causing the death.
After Sandler's hiatus from social media, fans and spectators alike wondered what the truth behind it all was.
Her fast-paced on-again, off-again relationship with older actor, Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian), caused many to believe she was facing a crisis.
But nearly a year following her mother's death, a court case has revealed her innocence. Ex-boyfriend and fan-favorite, Oscar winner, James Callaghan, has been convicted of second-degree murder (with intent to kill and disregard for human life, though, according to the Jury and Callaghan, the murder itself was not intentional — he was in fact trying to kill Sandler) and has been sentenced to twenty years in prison without bail.
Justice reigns on the Sandler family, with other celebrities sharing their heartfelt messages on social media in support of Willow and her father.
"Proud of you bug xx" Co-star of Sandler's, Norman Reedus posts with a humoring picture of himself, Sandler, and co-star Andrew Lincoln.
"Your mom can finally rest peacefully. I'm so proud of your strength and I love you more than words can say, Will" Jensen Ackles, friend of Sandler tweets.
"Let James Callaghan rot in prison. Willow and her family deserve peace and love after everything" former Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner posts on her Instagram story.
Many others have reached out in support, with "I'm Sorry Willow" and "Willow Sandler" and "Pillow Forever" trending on Twitter. Fans have apologized for threats and after the verdict, Sandler gained an extra 400,000 followers, while Callaghan has lost nearly a million.
While E!News has attempted to contact Emma Stone for comment regarding her own relationship with Callaghan, we have received no response.
All we can hope is that Willow and her father feel peace, and are able to mourn properly now that justice has been served.

that's it. that's the end. I know it's not some big court scene but idk it didn't feel right. Willow's always had trouble with her anxiety and confrontation and I feel like the entire day would be a blur and the only thing to put her back in reality is Pedro.
Next chapter is the epilogue but this is really it.
Thank you all so much for the love and support on this story, I appreciate it so much. Also, I've decided there's no smut, I'm SORRY. I wanted to but again it didn't feel right.
Willow's entire life is showcased to everyone and I feel like she'd never want that shown.
Also, I hope Pedro never finds this book or I'll cry and die inside.
Hope you liked it and thank you again so much.
Only the epilogue left and we're done.
