Isabella's POV:
The pounding in my head was unbearable. I tried to move, but my body was locked in place. As my eyes fluttered open, panic hit me like a cold wave. The room was frigid, with no windows and walls made of unforgiving grey cement. I was strapped to a chair, ankles bound to the legs, wrists tightly secured behind me. My heart raced as I realized the horrifying truth—I'd been kidnapped.
Flashes of last night returned, disjointed and foggy. The club, the drinks, Jake, Noah's sudden appearance. I remember Noah's eyes, dark and intense, asking what I was doing with Jake. But after that—nothing.
The steel door creaked open, echoing through the room. Jake stepped in, his presence suffocating. "Good to see you awake," he said with a twisted grin.
I was still in the same outfit from last night, and the realization that he had me tied up made my blood boil. "Why the hell did you kidnap me?" I spat, struggling against the restraints.
"Don't even bother," he sneered, stepping closer. "Your boyfriend killed my father."
"Ex-boyfriend," I corrected, as if that detail mattered now. But it was true—I needed him to know Noah wasn't mine anymore.
Jake's eyes narrowed as he continued, ignoring my interruption. "I need to hurt him, and you're the key. Killing you will tear him apart."
I scoffed. "We broke up. He loves someone else now. Maybe you should kidnap her instead."
"Is that so?" he snapped, his voice rising. "He broke up with you because we threatened him, but you're still the one he cares about. And I'm going to make him pay for that."
A chilling realization hit me—Noah still had feelings for me. A flicker of hope sparked in my chest, only to be crushed by the thought of Ava. Where was she? Was she safe?
"What about Ava?" I asked, my voice trembling.
Jake's smirk widened. "You wouldn't want to know."
Fear clawed at my insides. What had they done to her? I couldn't bear the thought of her being hurt because of me. Jake moved closer, his fist colliding with my jaw, sending a shockwave of pain through my body. I tasted blood, my vision blurring as I fought to stay conscious.
"Perfect," Jake said, stepping back to admire his work. "Noah is going to lose his mind when he sees this."
Tears welled in my eyes, not from fear but from the excruciating pain. Despite everything, a small voice in the back of my mind whispered that Noah would come for me. He had to.
Noah's POV:
I stood in the backyard, burying my hands in the soil as I planted roses. Each seed felt like a connection to her, a way to hold onto the memory of her smile. Last night, after she left, I found myself in her room, surrounded by her scent. Her perfume lingered in the air, and I couldn't help but fall asleep in her bed, desperate to feel close to her.
