Kirishima had done exactly what Ahri had suggested. All of his friends and old classmates were still in town due to having shown their support for the court case, so the plethora of furious heroes began a manhunt unlike any other. Tamaki and Mirio had dropped Eitarou off at pre-k and were going to spend the entire day posted outside the school, and secretly Ahri prayed Daisho would be dumb enough to try and take Eitarou because Tamaki harbored more hate for the snake of a man than anyone- aside from Ahri.
Due to being no use to anyone combat-wise, Ahri had tried to summon a bit of stability and normalcy to her day by returning to her baking.
Ahri tied the bright golden bow atop one of her most loyal customer's boxes. "I'm so sorry I haven't been taking any orders recently! Life has been a bit hectic recently."
She turned to see the golden beauty smiling at her understandingly. The woman was wearing a bubblegum pink cardigan, Jigglypuff t-shirt, and white jeans clinging to her shapely short legs, so she looked downright adorable as she chirped, "It's quite alright, I know you have been at your wit's end."
"Oh," Ahri blushed shyly and slid the box toward the goddess, "I guess you've seen the news report from last night? I don't understand why they keep playing it on repeat. It's not that interesting..."
Her head canted to the side in confusion causing those long golden tresses to dance across her hips. "News report?"
"T-the one on Kirishima and I..." Ahri's pointed ears wiggled in confusion. "If you didn't see it, then...how'd you know I'm at my wits end?"
Ahri would be a liar if she didn't say the gorgeous woman in front of her caused her instincts to flare.
Fae Forester.
She had actually been the very first person to support Ahri's business all those years ago, and Ahri had been so grateful that she hadn't dug into how the young woman had discovered her small-time business. Despite seeing Fae once a month every month like fated clockwork, she knew absolutely nothing about Fae aside from that depending on the light her molten brown eyes would glitter in gold so bright it was nearly impossible to look away from those all-seeing orbs.
Fae's soft cheeks were adorned with her twin dimples as she expertly lied, "I'm so silly! I totally forgot my roommate and I did see that last night!"
"Oh Okay," Ahri laughed in only half belief as their fingers brushed one another's. "Well, I'm glad that even with all the craziness, I still have some customers trickling in."
Fae looked down at the box of scones, and through those dark brown lashes, Ahri saw Fae's eyes begin to glow, and her consciousness seemed to slip into a different time. After a moment, Fae's smile turned genuine as she came back to reality and hummed, "don't worry about customers, Ahri. Very soon you'll have a rather large and very important event to cater. How are you at cakes?"
"Cakes?"
"Mhmm, large ones to feed about 100 people."
"Ummm I'm fine I guess, but-"
"Good," Fae pulled out a rather large stack of cash from the pocket of her bubblegum pink cardigan. "Here is the payment for the scones."
Just like every time she spoke to Fae, she found herself completely confused. "T-thank you, but this is way too much."
