We catch up with Mittelt, who is running through the forest with the moonlight shining through the leaves of the densely packed trees. Mittelt, Kalawarner, and Raynare had split up to Spread the Devil's thin while Raynare got away with Issei. Mittelt ran and ran through the forest. When she felt she had gotten a significant distance away, she turned her head and slowed down, noticing nobody was following her. "Wonderful, I wasn't even followed-" as she said that, something slammed into her side, sending her flying into a nearby tree.
Mittelt smacked off the tree, falling beside the roots while clutching her side. Mittelt cursed as she looked up to see who was behind this. Mittelt saw a pair of brown loafers and black socks, and looking even further up, she saw an annoyed Koneko standing with her arms crossed. Mittelt unintentionally looked up her skirt, seeing the mint green panties Koneko had on, and blushed a little.
Koneko got annoyed, noticing what Mittelt was looking at. Koneko blushed a little and put her foot under Mittelts chin, flicking her up with her foot and pinning Mittelt against the tree. "I hate perverts, but I'm going to need mine back. So where is he?" Koneko said in her usual monotone voice, accompanied by annoyance. Mittelt struggled to get out of Koneko's grasp angrily, grumbling back, "Not with me! So let me go!" Koneko let her go, and before she could hit the ground, Koneko backhanded her hard, sending Mittelt flying through a tree and rolling on the grass.
Koneko started walking toward the Fallen casually as Mittelt struggled to get up. "You've survived more than I thought a fallen could." Mittelt weakly stood up, looking at Koneko with a smile. "You're right. I'm as strong as that waste of a Sacred Gear when he fought Raynare!" Mittelt went to make her usual pink light spear only for it to come out twice as large as it is typically, shocking both combatants. Mittelt feeling a surge of adrenaline, threw her spear as hard as she could. Koneko, with no time to dodge, had to grab the spear by the blade, burning her hands in the process. After a moment, Koneko shattered the light spear entirely with her bare hands. "You're still weak," Koneko said, catching Mittelt off guard.
Koneko rushed Mittlet, who couldn't react because of the splitting pain in her jaw and side. Tackling her, Koneko repeatedly punched Mittelt, who held up her arms, trying to keep herself alive. As Koneko was punching she saw something glowing under Mittlet as her punches became increasingly ineffective. Koneko was confused as suddenly a large pulse of Holy magic came from Mittelt's body knocking Koneko & Mittelt out cold. As the pair lay beside one another, their clothes ripped to shreds from the blast Makoto had landed between them.
Makoto picked the two girls up, holding each in her wings. Makoto noticed a mark on Mittelts back and gently moved her to see what it was.

"I guess the Corrupted Gear activated. Though I'm not sure what this even is." Makoto thought. As Makoto was thinking, she felt Koneko moving and saw her wake up. "Makoto-San? Where did the Fallen go?" Makoto started walking and told Koneko that Mittelt was in her other wings and she would explain why she's isn't dead after the other two had been collected. Koneko covered herself as she felt pretty exposed, only for a shadow to start enveloping her and Mittelt up to their necks. "What is this?" Koneko asked, perplexed. "That is called Blessed Shade. It's a Shadow Wing Technique that allows me to cover myself and others in a pitch-black shadow," Makoto explained.
