My hand is on my head while walking my way back to the classroom. My head is aching again. "I will go back to the apartment and sleep after my presentation to Ms. Yuko," I mutter to myself. I think my three hours of sleep hit my head so badly.
"Sarada!" the giddy Mika runs to me upon seeing me approach the classroom. Don't tell me she waits for me to come back. "Is there something going on?" I say in a weak voice. I'm still resisting the pain in my head.
"So, hm, what happened? Did he ask you out?" she asks while snickering. This gossip girl! "No! Why would he ask me out?!" I deny. Well, honestly, he never really asked me out.
"What why..." I cut her out. "Can we talk about it later? I need to go see Ms. Yuko. I'm in a hurry though," I tell her and she did not insist anymore. "Okay..." all she utters. I grab my bag and the envelope where my plan was kept and say goodbye to her.
"Finally!" I sigh in relief but my head is still pounding like hell. "But my head is..." I try to ignore the pain in my head and walk to the Student Council Office.
I knock on the door to catch Ms. Yuko's attention, she's working with her stuff and she smiles upon seeing me. "Come in," and I walk near her table. "Please sit down, Sarada," she offers me the vacant seat, and I did not hesitate to accept her offer.
"What brought you here today?" she asks me and closes the book she was reading earlier. "I'm here to present my proposal for the upcoming Annual Sports and Cultural Festival," she looks delighted when I tell her.
She leans on her chair and acts like she's ready to listen to me about my presentation. "Great. I was looking forward to it," her fingers intertwine with each other.
"I had a hard time formulating my plan but I'm so happy that I finished it on time," I say with pleasure and she nods to show support.
"Alright, I can't wait to hear from you. Can we start now?" she asks and I nod. I take out one copy of my printed proposal and show it to her.
I explain every detail to her and she was attentively listening to me. I can see the interest on her face and she also gives her ideas and insights from time to time.
After an hour of discussion, we have concluded, finally! "You got a brilliant idea. I like it," she praises my work. I think my face brightens at her remarks. "Thank you so much, Ms. Yuko. I appreciate your kind remarks on my proposal," I show how grateful I am to her.
"Not bad for a freshman and a first-timer like you," she laughs briefly and speaks again. "You can discuss it with the council tomorrow," she tells me and I get confused suddenly. "Does this mean you approved my proposal?" I say with excitement in my voice.
"Yes, it was brilliant and I believe it will be a success," I clap my hands in joy. "I know they will like it too. Some of your ideas were unique and student-centered. You wanted everyone to be a part of it and make sure they all got to do their best and showcase their talent," she emphasizes my ideas to be unique.
"I didn't expect you'd praise my proposal. I thought it was boring personally but I was wrong," I clutch my chest. I'm so happy that Ms. Yuko is so positive about the outcome.
"I have expected you would surprise me and you never disappoint," she smiles sincerely at me. "Thank you so much. Rest assured I will do my best until this is over," I think I said the greatest promise of my life.
She nods to say everything is alright. "Good luck with your presentation tomorrow. I hope they will approve of it as well," she stands up as soon as I rise from my seat. "Thank you for your time, Ms. Yuko. I'll see you later," I say and leave the office.
