chef schuyler!

"You're an idiot!" Melanie laughed. She leaned over the counter, waiting for the water to boil. Matt sat on FaceTime, cooking his own dinner.  The boy held up a piece of toast, or charcoal.

"I swear I'm a good cook! I made great pasta once." He insisted, tossing the bread into the trash.

"After seeing you burn bread, I don't trust you with a stove. " The brunette glanced over at the water in her pot, watching as small bubbles began to form. Matt sighed.

"Maybe I should just order in."

"Probably a good idea." Melanie spoke bordley, her chin resting in her hand. Her eyes flickered to the screen to see Matts shoulders heave slightly. A small smile etched its way into her face as Matt leaned back against the kitchen counter.

"Shut up Schuyler, you're literally watching water burn."

"You cant burn water." Melanie retorted, opening the box of rigatoni.

"Sure you can."

"You're actually so dumb." Melanie laughed, watching Matt roll his eyes. "You know if you want to taste my superb cooking, you could always come over." Matt pauses whatever argument he had ready, his face frozen. Melanie waved her hand over the camera. "Hellooo earth to Matthew."

Matt's face crinkles up at the use of his full name. "I was gonna come over, but since you used my full name now I'm not."

"Fine, more for me." Melanie flipped the camera, showing Matt the pasta she had created.

"Okay okay, ill be over."

"See you then!" Melanie smiled before hanging up.

"Who was that?" Odessa asked, rounding the corner. Melanie lowered the heat, placing the now fully cooked noodles onto a cold burner.

"Matt," she responded, mixing the sauce into a new pan," he's coming over for dinner." Odessa's brows raised in intrigue.

"Oh?" The girl jumped to sit on the countertop, her legs dangling beneath her. "You two have been spending an awful lot of time together," she started suggestively. Melanie rolled her eyes.

"Don't start," Melanie spoke, her eyes squinted as she pointed the saucy ladle at the brunette. "I've only know him for a month." Odessa hopped off the counter, taking her hand to lower the ladle.

"So! You don't like him the tiniest bit?" She asked, her arms folding over her chest. Melanie sighed, putting the ladle back into the pan. A small heat crept up the back of her neck. Quickly she turned so Odessa wouldn't see the pink hue.

"No."

"Liar!" Melanie rolled her eyes once more.

"He's a friend, Odie. Much like you are my friend." It was Odessa's turn to roll her eyes. Melanie turned the stove off, pouring the steaming sauce into the pot of rigatoni. "Now, help me set the table." The Winchester girl let out a frustrated groan. "Or, call Owen to help."

Without a second thought Odessa whipped out her phone. "Yo! Owen, get your ass down here!" A second later she set her phone down. "He's coming!" She smiled happily. Melanie raised a brow.

"You are so lazy." Odessa just shrugged. The sound of footsteps thundered down the stairs, a weary Owen sauntering into the kitchen.

"What do you losers want. I was trying to play Fortnite!"
