Melanie Elizabeth Schuyler (born 10 may 2002) is an American actress and singer. She has preformed on Broadway, as well as television and film. She is best know for her role as Lydia Deetz in Broadways, Beetlejuice and Christine Quinn in Stranger Things.
EARLY LIFE
Schuyler was born on May 10, 2002, in Hoboken, New Jersey, where she was raised. She lived in a higher income household, with her father Phillip, sister Kayla, and mother Elizabeth (née Chapman). Her father was a wealthy lawyer who often took cases with celebrities. Her mother came from a lower income household. Schuyler is a direct descendant of the Hamilton family, her grandmother (Juliet Hamilton) choosing to change back to her ancestors maiden name in 1930. Schuylers great uncle, (Juliets brother) chose to keep the Hamilton name. Schuyler started singing in 2008 at the age of 5 after her mother signed her up for auditions upon hearing her daughters voice.
CAREER
Stage
She started her stage career in 2008 starring as Gretl von Trapp in off-broadways Sound of Music. In 2012 she was cast as the original Matilda Wormwood alongside, Sophia Gennusa, Oona Laurence, Bailey Ryon and Milly Shapiro, who also originated the role of Matilda in Matilda. She stayed on until 2014 when she left to pursue other things. In 2018 Schuyler originated the role of Lydia Deetz in Broadways Beetlejuice. In 2019 she was nominated for a Tony and won best performance by an actress in a leading role in a musical. Early 2020 Presley Ryan took over the role. Schuyler has also made guest appearances in Hamilton as Ensemble and has preformed as her ancestor Elizabeth Schuyler several times (every year on Eliza's birthday). She is yet to return to stage after the broadway shut down in March 2020.
Film and television
Schuyler made her film debut in the 2010 movie Ramona and Beezus, staring as Romona alongside Selena Gomez (Beezus). She also had a smaller role in MTVs Teen Wolf as Liam Dunbars little sister (2014-2016). Schuyler has also voiced Frances in Disneys Tangled: The Series. Her most recent role has been in Netflix's Stranger Things (2016-) as Christine Quinn who joined the party in season 3.

In 2020 Schuyler created a YouTube channel titled Melslife where she posts vlogs and music.
PERSONAL LIFE
Schuyler lives at home with her parents and sister. She is single and has not dated anyone since 2019.
