~the cats of ShadowClan often have dark colored fur, cold personalities, and yellow eyes.
~the cats of StarClan often are depicted as white cats with blue eyes
~most of the time, the heroine will have blue/green/gray eyes.
~2000% of the time, you mention characters that should be important but never actually turn up in your book again (example: parents, siblings, etc)
~a depressing backstory
~a depressing life that is actually happy but hey let's make the character seem to have a depressing life for more drama.
~a love interest that the heroine falls in love with at first sight (seriously, nobody ever sets out a developing relationship!)
~different Clan love
~hunting like 50 pieces of prey on one hunting party
~being invincible
~using words that a cat does not know (they have their own words)
~cussing
~if a rogue, loner or kittypet, they are almost immediately asked to join whichever Clan without any suspicions or disapproval
~medicine cats never get sick
~the protagonist always stands out somehow. They're never just a normal cat.
~elders are always grumpy
~the protagonist never retires to the elder's den
~StarClan cats always fade away after being all mysterious in a dream, leaving the protagonist in despair
~nobody ever thanks StarClan for their prey
~nobody ever shares tongues
~nobody ever refers to Silverpelt anymore (Silverpelt is what warriors call the Milky Way Galaxy, by the way)
~there are never any omens
~queens never have failed kittings
Be reminded, please limit the use of these stereotypes, because that's what makes a book just like any other. Try to come up with your own unique ideas, that'll definitely help you draw readers towards you to read your book. And to the forgotten things, please incorporate them more into your story!
