Moss sat over the grave of Mire, questioning the skywings, their ambush, everything the mudwings did for them and they still decided to do this? Moss hated herself for being so cowardly, if she actually stood a chance and maybe saved her little brother, they wouldn't be here now.
She stood up, stumbling from her amputated leg, it never felt easy carrying a hardship of being an amputee, a sensitive subject she didn't prefer to say often, she grumbled, feeling irritated already, she limped off to her den, she could never forgive herself for deciding to hide away, scurry like a helpless animal to shelter and safety.
Few days later, nothing really happens except the whole tribe going into brief mourning.
Moss woke up to a scurry of feet and mumbling outside their hut, her eyes opening slowly, adjusting to the dim light of the sheltered den. She sat up, her legs felt stiff, aching, from who knows what, not her. Moss stretched out her legs and wings, her throat dry, her eyes held crust and burned from a fading headache, the consequences of crying.
Moss flicked her ears and pointed her flat square nose to the entry, the hut was empty, no one woke her up? Moss didn't know why, all she knew what that she heard something from outside the hut and she wanted to check.
She got up, shifting her weight to her right arm,she stumbled to the doorway, nothing was there. Confused,Moss submerged her whole body into the sunlight that was high above, slowly soaring through the blue sky, she looked around, it looked pretty normal, like people had lost half of their grief in the three days of mourning.
Mud bubbled over sinking Mudwings whom where napping casually like nothing bad had happened, Juvenile mudwings wrestled and bugged their bigwings,Moss searched the bustling paths for her siblings, she was going to confront them the moment she saw them.
