Ayame stood next to Miyu and Saki, the two girls she had grown the closest too during her stay in her home village. They were almost to the village, the place she hadn't been in for two years. Had things changed?
A grin appeared on her pale face, her thoughts drifting to Kiba. She had left the boy hanging, she could still feel the buzz on her lips, the tingle bringing her mind to her happy place. Ayame hadn't even planned on kissing Kiba that day, in fact he was the only one who even got some sort of goodbye.
"Ne, ne, Ayame-nee?" Miyu asked, tilting her head cutely as her now longer hair cascaded down her back.
Ayame glanced at her, making a strange sound before she properly answered. "What is it, Miyu?"
"Why are you blushing? Were you thinking of dog boy again?" Saki nodded along with Miyu, both their gazes intensifying on the slightly older girl as they eagerly awaited an answer.
They seemed to always be like this, asking questions that obviously weren't their business. Ayame couldn't help herself though, she told them both anything, even if they didn't ask. She guessed that was why they were snooping around the boy who Ayame felt like she loved.
The red-head nodded, her gaze falling into that of a love sick school-girl, hearts circling around her eyes to prove her point. Miyu scrunched up her face, sharing the look with Saki before giving her opinion on the whole matter. "Screw him. He's bad for you, Ayame-nee. Can't you see that? You'd be better off with Naruto-kun or something!"
Now it was Ayame's turn to make a face, running ahead slightly before she turned around, a huge smile on her face as well as a peace sign held up in the air. She would prove them wrong, Kiba wasn't a bad guy. Sure, she and him rarely ever got along but Ayame loved him.
She was sure of it.
"Naruto? No way! He's too high-strung on Sakura-chan, who's way to oblivious to even notice him! I bet she's still chasing after Sasuke. . ." Ayame trailed off, her thoughts going to the rescue mission that had failed miserably.
Saki shook her head, her light brown hair flying all over her face but the girl made no move to fix it. "Kiba-kun was your mistake, Ayame-nee. I think you should try and forget about it before you become like Naruto!"
Ayame just blocked her friends out then, stopping in front of the gates. She remembered it like it was yesterday, she remembered the day she left. It was a scary feeling, leaving without even telling anyone, minus Tsunade and Kiba, well sorta.
It was more like she left Kiba with a kiss on the lips and had a huge meeting with the council of Konoha. Ayame was ordered to come back immediately is she was ever summoned back, no matter the reason. She didn't mind it, no, because Miyu and Saki were allowed to stay with the girl.
Aoi would be coming later, a couple months at the least. She was in training to become apart of some organization to help orphans. Burakku still disliked Ayame with a passion.
No matter what she did, Ayame just couldn't seem to make it up to him.
Izumo and Kotetsu looked up from their post, both surprisingly awake. Izumo grinned, obviously recognizing the red-head standing in front of him.
"Ayame-san!"
Kotetsu glanced between the two, trying to understand what was happening. Who the hell was this girl, waiting to be allowed passage?
Ayame grinned, nodding her hello. "Izumo-san, nice to finally see you again."
Finally Kotetsu had enough, he waved his hands in front of himself, his face scrunched in confusion. "Wait, wait, wait! Who the hell are you and how do you know Izumo?"
