The Generals and Their Lies
Kuroo Testsuro
My body stilled as I felt the cold sword pressed up against my back. A nervous sweat ran down my neck. How had they gotten there without me noticing?
"One wrong move and you die. Do you understand, General Tetsuro Kuroo?" The voice said calmly.
How did I get here..?
--------------------------
Dec. 4thMy morning started like every other. Wake up, get dressed, go eat, then get to work. It was a boring routine, but nonetheless something I was used to.
A knock on the door to my chambers indicated my servant, Kenma must have had something for me. Or at the very least had come to clean my room.
"Come in," I called out as I buttoned up my dress shirt in front of the mirror. I looked into the reflection, watching as the familiar pudding haired boy walked in, giving a small bow. All this time and he was still as formal as can be...
He had served me for as long as I could remember, ever since we were kids in fact. Well, correction, he served my family. He would always follow my parent's orders over mine, but I didn't fault him for that. It wasn't his choice. Simply who he served.
Kenma would walk over and place some papers on my desk. "Young Master Kuroo-" he started, but I almost immediately interrupted him. He really needed to stop doing this. "You know I hate when you call me that." I reminded him, turning my head to look over at the boy with a small grin.
Kenma sighed. "Tetsuro, you have an urgent summoning. These papers are for you to look at afterwards." He mumbled as he walked over, placing the papers down onto my desk.
I raised an eyebrow. I had nothing planned for today. Though considering how short notice it was, it could perhaps be my parents... "Who summons me?" I asked curiously.
"The Prince." Immediately, my blood ran cold. Had I done something to anger his majesty? As much as my mind searched, nothing came up as to what I could've done. If it was unintentionally, would he show leniency? Probably not, but what exactly had I done?
"You should hurry up, you know as well as I do that His Highness hates being kept waiting" Kenma said calmly, staring directly at me. I groaned before nodding. "Okay okay, I'm going, I'm going." I said as I grabbed my uniform coat (top photo for reference).
I draped the coat over my shoulders with a sigh. "I'll see you later, Tetsuro.." Kenma spoke softly and I nodded before walking out of my chambers, turning to head towards the throne room.
Initially, when I was given the news about being summoned, my mind was racing. But after giving myself quite a moment to calm down, it was pretty easy to guess that I hadn't angered his majesty. It was much more likely that I was being summoned in a more militaristic capacity
I ended up laughing out loud once I realized how much I had panicked over what's likely to be nothing. How stupid of me to do so.
"I wonder, what has you in such a good mood, General Kuroo." The voice came from behind me. I stopped walking and turned around to see a familiar face.
