Ivy
It was a beautiful early evening on the beach. The moon was full and perfect as Ivy walked along the shorelines. It was the night she was supposed to shift for the first time and she wanted it to be perfect. Not too far from her was a tent she was camping out in. She decorated it with hanging lights and Selena-dreaming of you playing in the background to ease her mood. It had to be one of the most peaceful nights she had to herself. No fighting siblings and no negative remarks from her mother. Just the sound of good music and waves crashing into the glistening rocks.
She lightly sang along with the artist while she finished setting up her camp. Making her way back to the tent she felt her bones aching and her skin becoming hot. Usually, during this time, the young wolf's family would gather around and shift with you for encouragement, but for Ivy, her family was far from encouraging. Just before she made her way to the beach, her mother told her she needed to 'grow up and feel how it is to do stuff on your own'. Even though she wasn't expecting anyone to be there with her it still hurt to know she was alone in this first shift.
Nevertheless, just like anything else, she toughed it out and decided to make it a memorable experience for herself. With shaky and unsteady hands she laid out her favorite fur blanket and set her camera to record.
"hola a quien vea esto mi nombre es Ivy Perez y este es mi primer turno" (hello to whoever will see this. My name is Ivy Perez, and this is my first shift). She threw up a peace sign, smiling into the camera.
The moon was high in the sky; clouds surrounded the full moon, creating the perfect ambiance.
Feeling her wolf ready to take over she angled the camera downwards and did as Alpha Martinez taught the young pups. Not allowing her human side to fight her wolf, she tried to breathe steadily. First, her shoulder started popping and cracking, crying out in agony. She still tried to focus as her arms cracked and her hands broke, turning into paws. She felt her face shifting into a long snout and her ears getting longer. The pain was starting to become unbearable praying to the moon goddess to help her shift faster. Just when she thought she wasn't finished the pain subsided. Her human mind pushed back while her wolf was finally out. Taking a deep breath she howled out loud in glee! Following her howl she heard the other new shifters and the older ones before her joining in. The love her pack was showing made her feel less alone. Prancing and examining her wolf body she was loving her pure white as snow fur. In her pack, white was rare, but in tradition, it was a sign of strength.
